Incredible value! (especially for 2026)
First LEGO set I've bought since I was a child, and I was really impressed. The price per piece is very reasonable, and the set packs a lot into it considering its size. 5 figures (technically) on top of a pretty substantial build with a lot of accessories makes this a great package. I bought to connect to some older sets for display rather than really play, but I can tell there's a lot of playability with this set. The chicken is interactive with 2 mechanisms one to lay eggs and the other to drop seeds and feathers. Its wings can be moved up and down, and its designed to be easily removed from the rest of the build so maybe it could be used as like a giant toy on its own or simply placed somewhere else. The pen and farming area also compact a lot onto the base of the set. The building process itself is engaging as there's a variety of parts. Of course with the chicken you have to repeat the same building steps twice for stuff like both of its legs. But the chicken is surprisingly quite a complex build due to the several features it includes. One criticism I have and this is just pretty much universal with modern LEGO Minecraft (I assume to cut costs?) but there's a noticeable lack of space, the base plates included give room to just about fit the structure and farm area this set includes, but there's not really any space for some standard terrain. When putting all the minifigs/mobs on for a photo, I couldn't even really find enough room to fully attach the Fox to the build. I also think the chicken build itself would've benefitted from a base plate to cover the top and conceal the holes where you put the seeds/eggs in. It looks a bit unfinished from the sides because of this, but I assume kids wouldn't really mind about this part. Most of the jumper tiles (the flat pieces that have a connecting bit in the middle) are mostly 2x4 rather than 2x2, which I feel might make it difficult for anybody to use the pieces in this set to make something original, but that's another small gripe. Overall its a fantastic set and I'm definitely excited to start collecting more in future. Its flaws are minimal and I imagine most won't actually care about them. This isn't even just great value for 2026, it's historically great value for this theme. Definitely worth the price.
