[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received the Gardena AquaZoom Rectangular Sprinkler to test and was keen to see how it compared with the other Gardena products I already own. These include a wall-mounted automatic hose box, a handheld spreader and a pulse sprinkler, all of which have lasted well over the past five years. My lawn is fairly wide, so I previously had to keep moving my sprinkler to reach everywhere. Even then, quite a lot of water would end up on the patio. The AquaZoom has largely solved this because the coverage can be adjusted very precisely. The bright orange controls let you alter how widely the water fans out on each side independently. For example, it can spray full to the right but also a short distance to the left. You can also adjust how far the sprinkler travels backwards and forwards, making it much easier to keep the water on the lawn and away from the patio, fences or flower beds. The water pressure and reach were excellent with my setup. There is a separate flow control on the sprinkler if you need to reduce it, although I found it easier to adjust the pressure at the tap mainly because that meant less chance of getting soaked! Setup was very straightforward. I connected the hose, positioned the sprinkler and adjusted the controls to suit the shape of my lawn. Although it appears to be made almost entirely from plastic and is easy to move about, the wide base keeps it stable while in use. I used to be sceptical about plastic garden products and preferred metal, but my Gardena hose box has remained outside for years and still looks almost as good as new. That has given me confidence in the quality of the materials Gardena uses, although only time will tell whether this sprinkler proves equally durable. I would definitely recommend the AquaZoom for rectangular of unusually shaped lawns. Its excellent range of adjustments provides accurate coverage, wastes less water and saves me from repeatedly moving the sprinkler. For a round garden, one of Gardena’s circular sprinklers might be a better fit, but for my lawn this is an excellent choice.

Not cheap but really good. Instructions are minimal but it can quickly be figured out and its range and spread and volume can easily be adjusted.

Versatile, quality replacement
I bought this to replace a ten year old sprinkler that had been repaired umpteen times and eventually had to be replaced. First impressions are that this is far more adj, good quality and extremely simple to install, set up and use.
