Deep fry pan
I love the size of the pan and the quality of it, however the basket does not sit on the bottom of the pan and I find I use it without to cook and transfer food back into it to drain the oil.

FRIDAY NIGHT HOME MADE CHIPS
I brought this chip pan to make home made proper chips, I got fed up of the frozen ones that were boring and tasteless. I followed the instructions/ guidelines given. The pan is a good size, I like the feature that you can drain the oil off before putting them into your plate. Home made chips really are the best.

Not the best chip pan
Not a good chip pan. You need a lot of oil to get to the correct depth and then when you add the chips the oil over flows. The handle gets hot also. Would I buy again? No.

After checking with our supplier, they have advised for the Argos Home 22cm Stainless Steel Chip Pan: This is a chip pan so designed to be used with a deep layer of oil. There is not need to season the pan.

It does state in the description that it can be used on a halogen hob.

Hi, I think the lid is for general use ie veg or potatoes, not for frying chips. If you put the lid over fat whilst cooking it will cause condensation to more or less steam, not fry your chips. If you like a crispy kind of chips Id leave the lid off.
Hi, I have bought this chip pan and the instructions say clearly Do Not Cook with the Lid On. Hope this helps.
