Not the best chip pan
Not a good chip pan. You need a lot of oil to get to the correct depth and then when you add the chips the oil over flows. The handle gets hot also. Would I buy again? No.

Bought this before Xmas hoping to serve turkey and chips to family of 8 on boxing day. Sadly I would have needed 3! Nice little chip pan for 2 though so have kept it Have to agree with other reviews that the basket is very odd with the stand at the bottom which stops potatoes being immersed in the oil! Took it away during frying and used it to shake oil off chips.

It does state in the description that it can be used on a halogen hob.

Hi, I think the lid is for general use ie veg or potatoes, not for frying chips. If you put the lid over fat whilst cooking it will cause condensation to more or less steam, not fry your chips. If you like a crispy kind of chips Id leave the lid off.
Hi, I have bought this chip pan and the instructions say clearly Do Not Cook with the Lid On. Hope this helps.
