An absolutely essential piece of equipment
The is what I needed the USB-C to USB-A cable for. Now I have four USB-A ports to which I can attach all my gadgets

Can’t drive two HDs
Plugged in two portable HDs. One worked, the other just made an intermittent buzz but didn’t show up on my desktop. And that was with the four-port hub driving just two USBs, the other two ports are vacant. Do don’t buy this if you want to use multiple drives off it.

Extra USB ports
I bought this as my new laptop only has 2 USB ports so when my mouse & keyboard are plugged in I would have to unplug ione of them to use my headset, and I need all 3 at the same time. I haven't used it to charge anything so I don't know if it's quick or slow. My main purpose was for the extra port which it provides.
