About this product
The Argos Home Ashwell Oak Extending Table gives you a flexible dining spot that grows with your plans. It's built from North American oak, a hardwood known for its strength and natural grain character. Solid oak legs and a sturdy frame keep everything stable through family meals and gatherings with friends. The thick tabletop seats up to six people comfortably when closed, so there's room for everyone around the table. When you need extra space for special occasions, a butterfly extension folds away discreetly under the centre of the table, ready to use.
The extension mechanism is straightforward. Pull each end of the table apart, flip the centre piece up, and unfold it into place to extend the length from 120cm to 150cm. The natural oak finish shows the wood grain and wipes clean after meals. Reinforced joints and quality materials provide lasting stability. Two people are recommended for assembly, with all fixings and instructions included. Comes with a 2 year manufacturer's guarantee.

Really impressed with this dining table.
Lovely dining table. I got this at a promotional price, excellent value and good quality. The extending leaf mechanism in the middle is eased to use. The table was delivered as advised and well packaged. It's really good that I managed to find a table that's compact, seating 4, and that extends just enough to seat an extra 2 people. To wood is beautiful with a lovely grain and warm colour.

Stunning surprise!
I wasn't too sure what to expect when I ordered this table, given that it was such a reasonable price. I had looked at tables treble the price, so didn't expect the quality to be as good... However, it is a BEAUTIFUL table, every bit as good as anything else I had looked at, and the colour is a gorgeous natural oak, something else I was worried about as the photos online varied colour wise. I honestly couldn't have found a more beautiful table - please do not hesitate it is high quality, solid, heavy, classy, and all you need to do is screw the table top on to the legs. This table will last a lifetime, believe me, and looks very expensive. I can't comment on the matching chairs, as I ordered different chairs elsewhere, but as far as this table goes, you cannot go wrong with it. Just stunning!

Great Table- Great Value for Money!

The table is ok, but the legs are not at the corners making it very tight to sit 6 people comfortably.

After checking with our supplier, they have advised for the Ashwell Oak Extending Table: ''The table top is made from oak and MDF and has been tested to FIRA 6250 General Level, meaning it meets the standard for everyday resistance to moisture and stains.
However, to keep it looking its best, we still recommend wiping up spills promptly and avoiding leaving standing water on the surface.''

The distance from the floor to the underside of the support rail of the table is is 647mm.

This is laminated oak Veneer. Meaning that it does have laminated MDF pieces as well.
