We recommend you use golf ball bulbs for this light so that they don't show past the edge of the shades, but candle bulbs will work just as well.

Lights do not have energy ratings as such like you get for white goods and ovens etc. however the Home Elisa 3 Light Glass Ceiling Light - Antique Brass does have an IP Rating of 20 which means it is not suitable for use in bathrooms. It also uses golfball E14 small edison screw LED bulbs with a maximum wattage of 7W so would have a very low energy use.

After checking with our supplier, they have advised for the Argos Home Elisa 3 Light Glass Ceiling Light - Antique Brass 814/6942: This is a class 1 appliance so will require earthing. It is not double insulated.

Having checked with the supplier for you I can let you know they say
"The shades can be removed but if they’re not used, then the customer will just have the plastic lamp holders on show, which isn’t that nice to look at."
