About this product
The Vax Air Stretch Pet Max is a multi-cyclonic upright that keeps its suction steady for consistent pickup across carpets and hard floors. It's designed for homes with pets, and the turbo tool makes short work of stubborn pet hair on furniture and stairs. The stretch hose and 13m cord give you a reach of 17m, so you can move through several rooms without unplugging, and at 5.6kg it's light enough to carry up and down stairs without much fuss.
The motorised floorhead adjusts between surfaces, and the 1.5l dustbin means you won't stop to empty it often. It's bagless, so no faffing with replacements, and multi-cyclonic technology keeps suction consistent as the bin fills. You get a full set of tools including turbo brush, mattress nozzle, crevice nozzle, upholstery nozzle, and dusting brush, handling upholstery, stairs, corners and floors. The hose stretches from 3.6m to 5.2m, handy for reaching high or cleaning the car. It runs at about 80 decibels, like most uprights, and works across carpets, hard floors, stairs and upholstery.

Customers Say
Powerful suction, great for pet hair, long cable, and good value. Some find it heavy and attachments fiddly. Mixed durability experiences; generally easy to use and effective on carpets.

Brilliant!
Needed an update from a certain other brand, was using one that was old. Got this new one today, and where I thought I'd been hoovering I hadn't!! Picked up so much on the first go, suction is great, and left carpets so much better looking. Got up alot of pet hair that you couldnt see as such. Cord long enough to do all the house level in one go, no plugging in again elsewhere. Wanted a corded upright as no bending, and its quite lightweight, smaller than I thought but not bulky at all which is actually good. So far so good, easy to use. It's great.

Vax Air Stretch Max Vacuum
A good all round vacuum cleaner at an affordable price.
JoGo, 65 or over
The vacuum is good for about a month and then it clogs up and you have to empty it after each use. I also find the roller doesn’t work and doesn’t suck up anymore. It clogs easily

Great buy
Bought two weeks ago, only draw back is it’s quite loud. Otherwise an amazing vacuum cleaner for a home with pets and long hairs. Easy to use. Great price

Good overall performance,but...
I boughht this vacuum as an alternative to the Henry vacuum which I also use for differing tasks..The overall performance is good, but I do feel that a more robust cable would be preferable, albeit at a slightly increased purchase price.

I bought this a couple of weeks ago and so far so good

Excellent and easy to use
I've had my hoover a few weeks and it's everything I hoped for. Love the extra long hose just what I wanted

Wont last long
Bought as a spare hoover for using at one of my fortnightly (really light clean) cleaning jobs. At first it was ok but it has just died a death on me. Purchased in May 2025 but only 16 months later and it is broken. It was only used twice a month at most. As I say it was used for a very light cleaning job where there are no kids or pets etc! I washed the filters out regularly. I would have expected a Vax to last a little longer so I am disappointed in this product.

Excellent
Excellent vacuum cleaner and the longer length of cord makes it much easier to use then my old one which I had for 18 years.

The is often on vac machines three option to turn the brushes on or off by a switch near the main on off switch. This is because it is driven by a seperate motor.
Hi Nic,
Looking into the Vax Air Stretch Max Pet Corded Upright Vacuum Cleaner yes, the brushes spin.
Thank you for using Q&A.
Yes. But I believe the brush only works when the slider on the front, which you alter for deep carpets or laminate, is on a particular side, it does not work on both.
Hope this helps
