About this product
Fancy building your own peaceful world alongside Pokemon? Pokemon Pokopia lets you do exactly that on the new Nintendo Switch 2. You play as a Ditto in human form, learning moves from Pokemon you befriend to reshape the land. Use Bulbasaur's Leafage to grow wild grass, keep it thriving with Squirtle's Water Gun, and watch more Pokemon appear drawn by the flourishing nature. You'll gather wood and rocks for building, till fields to farm crops, and construct homes for your Pokemon companions, all while a day-night cycle and changing weather create a living environment.
This is a relaxed, go-at-your-own-pace experience perfect for all ages (rated 3). Whether you're crafting your surroundings, growing your settlement, or simply letting time pass whilst you nap in your bed, it's wonderfully chilled. As you progress, you'll build a bigger home and invite both Pokemon and other players to visit and hang out with you - online features need a Nintendo Switch Online membership (sold separately) and internet access. Game disc included, designed exclusively for Nintendo Switch 2, releasing 5 March 2026.

Super game
We bought this this week and already have quite a few hours of game-time done. The game is easy to manage and we can share the game on our separate log-ins on our Switch 2. Enjoying the in-game events and the customising available.

Amazing intro to the Pokemon world
It is an extremely fun game and a great intro to Pokemon for people of any age. The real younguns may struggle with some of the quests but that will make for a lovely bonding experience.

Bought as a birthday present
Pokémon Pokopia stands out as a triumphant debut for the Nintendo Switch 2, successfully introducing a refreshing direction for the franchise by shedding traditional battle loops in favour of a cozy, post-apocalyptic town-rebuilding simulator. Co-developed by Game Freak and Omega Force, the narrative task is uniquely charming, placing you in the shoes of a customizable human form adopted by a lonely Ditto. Stripped of its human population, the desolate world relies on your terraforming and decorating prowess to build enticing habitats that lure various Pokémon back to the land. Guided by the quirky Professor Tangrowth, you are pulled into a deeply addictive progression system that blends the layout customisation of Animal Crossing: New Horizons, the voxel-style freedom of Minecraft, and the creature-attracting mechanics of Viva Piñata.

Great Game For Cozy and Building Lovers
I've only had this for a few days and I'm already hours of time gone just bumbling around and enjoying talking to other Pokemon and look forward to connecting with friends. Progression is slowish, but it's the sort of game that you don't have to rush. The customisation options for the world is amazing and really allows you to bring out your creative side!

Great game
Purchased on behalf of my son as a present for his sister as they both got a Switch 2 for their birthday. They described it as a crossover of Pokèmon and animal crossing. So far the game has been fab, daughter is enjoying playing it.

Hello Dave,
I can advise the following for the Pokémon Pokopia Nintendo Switch 2 Game:
This is indeed a physical game card and can be sold on if required.
Thanks for using Q & A.
NO this is for the switch 2 console
Sadly only Switch 2
Sadly only Switch 2
No this is a Switch 2 exclusive
This game requires a Nintendo Switch 2 Console to be played, as marked by the 2 at the top edge of the case. Regarding Switch 1 use, the game does use the Gameshare feature to allow a Switch 1 user to play with a Switch 2 user in local co-op mode, however the Switch 2 console handles all the processing for both consoles - the game is streamed from the Switch 2 to the Switch 1. The game cannot be played on a Switch 1 without a Switch 2 nearby providing this stream.
No its a switch 2 exclusive.
Its a virtual game key card - the card is virtual and will download the game when inserted, but it doesnt contain the actual game on it like a standard game disc.
Hello Rae
I can advise the following for: Pokémon Pokopia Nintendo Switch 2 Game.
It is a game disc.
Thanks for using Q&A
Technically, its both. You receive a physical cartridge that needs to be inserted into the console any time you want to play the game, but the cartridge does not contain any of the actual game data, only a serial number. The game still needs to be downloaded to the consoles memory before you can play it - 6.2GB of data in Pokopias case. All games marked as Game-Key Card at the bottom of the box use this system. This is different from download code games where a serial number is printed on paper.
