Don't buy if you want temperature alerting feature
The video works fine and night mode is quite good and clear The audio is a bit quiet. I can hear my baby cry from the other room louder than the through the device The main issue with the product is that the temperature alert doesn't work. Since the camera heats up while it's under use, the temperature alert goes off that it's too warm in the room. But it's just because the camera heats up

Used for monitoring my dog
I am veey happy with this device for monitoring my dog during the night or when she sleeps during the daytime. She sleeps in her crate so it easy to set up the camera so I can view her on the portable wifi enabled video screen, and hear her too,when I am out of the room.

The mains charger cable for the VTech VM4254 camera unit measures approximately 2m in length.

After checking with our supplier, they have advised for VTech VM4254 3.5 Inch Video Baby Monitor.
The VM4254 wall mount requires 2 x No 6 sized screws to be inserted into a wall leaving the screw head protruding.
The VM4254 camera is then placed over the screws and moved so that the screw head is clamped under the slot in the camera - the Quick Start Guide (QSG) describes this simple procedure.
For reference, the camera base has a “keyhole” type slot where the diameter is 8mm and the slot width 4mm, therefore a No 6 screw is ideal.

After checking with our supplier, they have advised for the VTech VM4254 3.5 Inch Video Baby Monitor : If 2 x VM4254 complete products are set up to monitor two different locations, where both Parent Units are located next to each other, any risk of interference between the two Parent Units should be minimal.

The VTech VM4254 does not feature sound or motion detection, and therefore does not provide audible alerts based on movement or noise.
If you're looking for a monitor with these features, VTech’s smart app-connected models — typically starting with “RM” in the model name (e.g. RM7766HD) — include motion detection and alert notifications as standard.
