Spits out hot water
Recently purchased after getting fed up with rice not working out done in the saucepan…this has given a whole new problem! It spits out hot, sticky water everywhere. We did four cups of rice, under the maximum amount and it made such a mess. Wish we’d not purchased this now!

My first rice cooker, and does what it should. It might be switching to “keep warm” a bit prematurely because rice at the bottom will stick together if left longer than a minute or two hence four stars. Very easy to clean, light and durable.

I can advise the warm function will stay on the Breville 1.8L Rice Cooker - Black until it is turned off. It does not switch off automatically.

You can cook just 1 cup of rice in the Breville VTP209 (1.8L) Rice Cooker.
The manual states that you should “measure uncooked white rice using the cup measure” and “do not fill the measuring cup past the maximum fill line”, which confirms that smaller portions like 1 cup are perfectly acceptable as long as you measure correctly.
Breville 1.8L Rice Cooker model VTP209 uses a fixed, permanently attached power cable.
