Good alternative to SkyQ
Easy setup just plug in satellite cable and scan for channels. Good amount of of free channels but not as many as I had with Skyq paying £80. Had a problem with guide updates and missed recordings but changed from WiFi to wired and rescan ,working ok now Remote is good and controls my basic tv function and box is similar to sky. Had to reboot twice because of blank screen but sound and graphics was working normal . Hopefully an update might sort it out. Lacks apps like Netflix etc but I knew that. No noticeable lag . Overall happy as free sky alternative

Does the job perfectly.
Bought to replace a Humax 1100S which died after 8 years. Very happy with this one. Easy to set up and to programme recordings. Nice to be able to skip the ads again.

Neat box
Can't comment as yet, haven't installed it as my Sky subscription hasn't run out yet. Neat box and instructions seem straight forward fingers crossed it all goes well when I set it up.

Improvement over the Arris, reliability unproven.
This purchase was to replace a Freesat 4K box ( Arris type) which had become unreliable when recording and quirky on replay. So far the S4-R is better in most respects. The remote works well with good button layout, but does not allow third party controllers such as the One-for-All type to be used as a substitute. Picture quality when upscaling to a 4K TV is as good as the Arris but no better. Scheduled recording searches mostly avoid the trap of picking up secondary channels showing the same content and causing duplication which was an increasing problem and recovery from temporary outages also seems better. The user interface usually achieves the desired action with fewer button presses and makes full use of the coloured teletext type buttons for this. Can't find any way to access the device via my network as yet but I may play with this and/or the USB interface at some point.
