The S4-R gives you back the freedom to own your schedule. Record four programmes at once with a compatible setup (as fitted for Sky Q), or two with older setups. So far so good. I purchased the Manhattan S4-R 500GB Freesat 4K TV Recorder not the T4-R to replace my Arris FREESAT UHD-4X-1000 Smart 4K Ultra HD 1TB Digital TV Recorder Box as it would over heat & stop recording even before this heat wave. I tried putting some aftershave bottle tops on the base to help with the air flow but this did not help & yes it was in a well ventilated area. Back to the S4-R this has 4 ventilation holes in the top it to help dispel the heat from the hard drive. Computers have fans to do this these dont. The makers know there is a problem with this so change it which is no good for people with the ones without air fents ie the Arris & the older T4-R. I have used the S4-R for over 6 hours non stop & it did not over heat. So hears hoping. ???

I moved to an area that did not give me access to freeview Now I have a freesat box this is so much better for me . I was also with TalkTalk and the box stopped letting me record or do catch up so now with my freesat I can do both very pleased with my purchase.I have found the guide easy to use It is a definite upscale for me .

brilliant little free sat box, very easy to set up and i think its better than a sky q box, does what it says on the box, gona save me a fortune in the long run, my tv watching changed so much over the years and i couldnt warrant paying skys prices

Great basic easy to use Freesat Recorder.
My previous Freesat decided to give up so found this one available. It was easy to set up and I am (probably one of very few!) glad that there are no paid streaming buttons on the remote. I got sick of accidentally pressing the shortcut button when I don't want them. In the menu, they are not there either - so if anyone has the paid streaming channels, you won't find them on this model. It is easy to find you way around and it informed me on setup that one of my twin cables was not working. I can't speak for storage of recordings as I tend to record, watch then delete, but there seems to be plenty. All in all, a good, basic Freesat Recorder.
