The S4-R gives you back the freedom to own your schedule. Record four programmes at once with a compatible setup (as fitted for Sky Q), or two with older setups. With 500GB of storage, build a library of up to 300 hours of your favourites. Pause live TV for up to two hours and rewind whenever you like.

I bought this to replace my very annoying Arris Freesat box. The Manhattan S4V is a far superior machine in every way.

Not impressed
Seems to be riddled with software bugs. Images which shouldn’t be there appear over menus etc which obscure what you’re looking at. Playback freezing and the BBC iPlayer App freezes regularly meaning the app has been closed and opened again to resume viewing. I don’t experience this issue in other devices I watch BBC iPlayer on. It’s a shame because it is well featured and the user interface is quite good too.

Works and records but miss features .
Bought this two months ago but have found it difficult to adjust from our Freesat handset and screen displays- not as intuitive and clunkier . We would not be able to access Netflix without our fire stack which we hadn’t realised when purchased although it does state the apps it supports which are limited .

Bought this 2 months ago, easy to set up, connect & use. Lots of channels. Records lots of channels at same time, with series link. Totally happy with my purchase. Loads of recording storage. Easy to use for guide.

That said, to give a full answer on how many channels it can record simultaneously, we need to know which type of LNB is fitted to the Sky Q dish. If it's the Wideband type, the S4-R can record up to 4 channels simultaneously.''
