The Manhattan S4-R brings you the best of live, recorded and on-demand TV, all for free. Just plug in your existing satellite cables for 100+ Freesat channels with over 35 in HD, then connect to Wi-Fi for BBC iPlayer, ITVX, YouTube and more.
The S4-R gives you back the freedom to own your schedule. Record four programmes at once with a compatible setup (as fitted for Sky Q), or two with older setups. With 500GB of storage, build a library of up to 300 hours of your favourites. Pause live TV for up to two hours and rewind whenever you like.

My old free sat box had broken. The new Manhatton one is now in place and I can record or pause the tv if I want to make a cuppa. Getting used to the new handset.

Easy purchase, didn’t realise the box doesn’t have any of the movie streaming services, just catch up, probably my fault for not reading the reviews. Easy to install and view.

A big improvement
I bought this to replace an old Humax receiver that died on me last week. It was very easy to connect to the same cables and the set up was a doddle. Up and running in a few minutes. An update was waiting via the WiFi and that went smoothly too. The interface is different on the whole I would say it is better but I do miss the the picture in picture but it's a minor gripe. Picture resolution is excellent, recording and playback is easy with more than enough storage for us. Power is much faster than the old box. Apps are yet be setup but it's nice to have them again. Overall I'm very happy with the purchase.

Good features
I bought it last week and so far it is working very good. Had one in my old house so knew what I was buying. It is great to watch live tv and also to record to watch later. The only downside at the moment is that it hasn't got Amazon on it and as my tv hasn't also got it we can't watch Amazon in the living room. It's easy to use and sits nicely under the tv.

That said, to give a full answer on how many channels it can record simultaneously, we need to know which type of LNB is fitted to the Sky Q dish. If it's the Wideband type, the S4-R can record up to 4 channels simultaneously.''

The main difference between the Manhattan T4‑R and S4‑R models is the type of TV signal they use: the S4‑R is designed for Freesat and connects to a satellite dish, while the T4‑R is designed for Freeview and connects to a standard TV aerial, with both offering similar 4K recording and smart features.

The T4-R is Freeview so it requires and connects to either a rooftop aerial or, in high quality reception areas, even an indoor aerial.
The S4-R is Freesat so it requires and connects to a satellite dish - the dish pointed towards pointing at the Astra 28.2E satellite. If you used to have Sky HD or Sky Q then its the same dish and the S4-R will work with both types of dish.
Yes. For this Freesat Receiver you do need a satellite dish pointed at Astra satellites at 28.2 East, an aerial will not do!
If you already have a dish in place that previously connected to a Sky HD box or a Sky Q box then this S4-R model will work perfectly. Note other models may not support Sky Q dishes, this one does.
