Great replacement
Bought to replace a similar HP printer which worked well for about 10 years. This one is quieter, faster and hopefully as reliable.

Easy to set up
Purchased to replace a previous model, which I purchased over 10 years ago. The new version was/is easy to set up, and connect to phone, tablet etc. It works well, although it takes time to acknowledge to print from my phone. The instantink system is useful, and a reasonable price.

User friendly printer
I changed my old printer due to the wireless connection was too complicated. HP 7234 is user friendly printer with SCan, print & copy functions . Highly recommend it if as it is a good price of this model.

Good as a general use home printer
Setting up was more difficult than I thought it would be to connect it to iMac and iPhone. I made at least 4 calls to the help phone line. The agents were all very helpful and were un rushed and happy to spend time on the phone to get the basics sorted out. After some months use the connections between hardware and software seems to get lost meaning that it’s back to setting it up again for which you have to use the serial number of the printer which you need to have readily available. I wanted to print some A5 & A4 flyers and posters some of which are on card. This proved problematic the printer did not like some thicknesses or types of card, I had to buy or borrow several thicknesses before I found something that worked reasonably well and not everything could be printed edge to edge on the card. Perhaps I should have bought a more professional printer for this kind of project. That said for day to day printing for home use it works fine. I like that HP send out ink cartridges when I’m low on ink. It beats having to shop online and probably works out cheaper. I print up to 400 sheets a month.

Thank you for replying. I actually just bought this printer and it does work with transparencies, ones that are suitable for inkjet that is. I looked through the manual and it wasnt mentioned, but I spoke to HP directly after someone on a forum said it was and HP confirmed it and so I purchased.

Printer has plug to connect to electric socket for power. But for connecting to laptop or phone, you will need WiFi. Laptop or phone must use the same WiFi as the printer and thats how you can send pages to print. Set up instructions are given with the printer.
Instant ink plan is good and its a plan where HP sends ink cartridges when your ink runs low. You may get cartridges by post before ink runs out. To get 3 months of instant ink use these codes FREEINK and ZMdTJ
