Works for basic Amazon installed apps but literally nothing else available from the official Amazon app store for this ... for example my other Firesticks (Android) can install apps for my CCTV and various other useful tools. This Firestick doesn't run Android and seems completely locked to Amazon.... Tbh Amazon should be paying me to plug this in for pumping ads into my living room and still having a subscription!

It's a great little Android stick with Xbox!

I think this question was referring to the Downloader app which allows the installation of third party apps or side loading I think its called. This model doesnt list the Downloader app in the Amazon app store and doesnt allow the installation of third party apps. I believe the 4K Plus may allow this, but Im not sure
