Hi Lynn, thank you for the enquiry. The canopy is suitable for outdoor activities like can be used as a patio cover, carport, sun lounge or spa cover but when using heat-generating appliances such as a barbecue or pizza oven, we recommend taking a few precautions.
Since the heat output can vary significantly depending on the type and design of the appliance (e.g., whether it has a chimney and how long it is), it's important to maintain a safe distance between the heat source and the canopy. We suggest keeping at least 1 to 1.5 meters of clearance from the roof structure.
Additionally, ensure there is adequate airflow around the cooking area to help dissipate heat. For example, avoid placing the heat source in a corner or enclosed space under the canopy, as this could trap heat and potentially cause damage to the panels over time.

Thanks for your query about the Palram Sierra 3 x 3.05m Patio Cover - White Clear.
You cannot reduce the overall width and length of the cover itself as it's a fixed size but you can change the steepness of the canopy by setting the top slightly higher and/or setting the supports further forwards or backwards. This would make it stick out more or less from the wall.
It's also possible to set the supports nearer or further from each other depending on preference or requirements if, e.g., the patio it's set on is a little bit narrow.
