Noisy
Noisy when boiling. Start and finish bleep too loud, why does it need to bleep to tell me I have turned it on? Water level hard to see as it is hiden behind the handle.

Kitchen Aid Kettle
The button on the top, to open the lid doesn’t work, having to fill by putting water in spout. The metal cylinder is so thin the heat on the sides has burnt me twice, standard is not good.

Irritating
Sad to say I’m really disappointed with the functionality. The switch-on and off noise irritates the whole family; the switch-on button is irritatingly awkward to find each time and the lid opening is already showing signs of failure after two weeks. The pour is lovely but everything else feels unnecessarily complicated and fragile.

Bad design
I received this as a replacement for a kettle I bought just over a year ago. It developed a thermostat problem and because it couldn't be fixed I received this as a replacement. We had it a week or so but the lid was impossible to open. Bad design...the catch wouldn't retract properly. This has also been returned and now is being replaced as again, they say it can't be repaired. Strange for such an expensive, quality item. I have several Kitchen Aid products. They are all good but these jug kettle are not of the same standard.

Great variable temperature kettle!
Good looking kettle which is easy to use and variable temperature is very useful for green tea etc. ⁸

Cool Kettle
Happy with the kettle, looks stylish. A little disappointed the pistachio colour isn’t the same as my Kitchen Aid toaster or Mixer.

Lid stopped working
This is such an expensive kettle and I assumed quality should be good. Lid stopped working after a few days, I must press the button and also use my nail in order to open it. Otherwise, i like function of warming water till specific temperature. But it's also too noisy, whenever water is ready it makes a sound and it's too high.

Pros & Cons
Pro: - good style, good volume, variable temperature, better on/off switch Cons: - water level almost impossible to ascertain with risk of overfilling and hence boiling over. Lid difficult to flip open, usually requires finger to drag it a bit beyond initial seal. The variable temperature setting is a lever, so can be knocked. Basis of opinion. This kettle replaces the previous version we had which started to have issues. That version had a) blue illuminated water level so easy to see b) temperature was set on handle with digital display in blue c) lid was easier to flip open. I accept that there are but 2 kettles of 1.7 l capacity with variable temperature setting - the other being SMEG that has the same issues as above. Bottom line? - This new Kitchenaid design kettle is 3 steps backwards - water level, lid, temperature setting control. When this kettle goes we will not be replacing like for like but look around. The whole thing is annoying as it is a very expensive kettle for what it actually does. Message to design teams - change is not always improvement. and change is not a necessity unless there is a design failure, which sadly this is now.

Very nice kettle!
This is a replacement for a similar model we bought years ago. It has a nice balance among other features that we like.
