I have never owned or even heard of the brand Gioteck before. But I am pleasantly surprised at the build quality and design of this item. To use it is really simple and easy. Just pop the USB C connection into the top of the Switch 2. Either in docked or handheld mode. And it's job done, ready to go. It has 3 sections. The first section is the camera, this can be spun around 180° to close the shutter for privacy mode. The middle section tilts the camera lens for a better angle and the 3rd section is the connector. It fits super snug into the top of the switch and after trying, it doesn't look like it can just fall or pop out. It's in there pretty tight. The field of view is 120°, the frames per second is 30, not brilliant but adequate, and the resolution is 1280x720, again not brilliant but does the job fine. It allows you to video call and screen share with friends, allowing a more immersive experience whilst gaming as you can see their reactions in real time and they can see yours too. This product is not for everyone obviously. If you just want to game on the switch then you probably don't need this. But if you game with others online, mainly friends, this definitely adds enjoyment and fun to the sessions. I can't wait for a monopoly game that allows you to use this whilst playing with friends and family, seeing their reactions in real time would be brilliant. I would recommend this to those that are looking for a switch camera, definitely.

Ok for basic casual use

The Gioteck FC1 Mini Camera is small, lightweight and easy to attach and simple to use. It works well for casual in-game features and basic video chat, with an adjustable tilt and a built-in privacy shutter.
However, the image quality is fairly poor—often dark, grainy, and laggy—even in decent lighting. It’s more of a fun, novelty add-on than a serious camera. Game support is also limited, so unless you play titles that actually use a camera, it may not get much use.
Bottom line:
Great as a cheap, compact accessory for occasional, light-hearted use. Not recommended if you want high-quality video or frequent functionality.

3rd party switch 2 camera

This small bit of kit is exactly what you think it is, a camera for switch 2.
It's 3rd party so has no affiliation with Nintendo.
It works however the quality of image is rather poor, the image is dark even in good lighting, very pixelated and suffers from lag.
Great for handheld use but when docked the camera quality isn't good enough to see much detail from far of a distance.

Really impressed by this camera attachment. It’s small, lightweight and compact. Attaches securely to the top usb c port for power. Camera quality is good for in-game features. It can rotate to change the angle of capture and also have a lens cover for privacy. Very happy with it and will add to the game play of the switch.

I don't know what I was expecting when I opened this camera, it was smaller than I thought and extremely light but then I guess it should be. In the box, is just a camera and that's it. In a way the box is about 4 times bigger than it needs to be. Installing the camera is super easy, just plug it in to the top USB port on your SW2 and that's it, easy! Image quality is perfectly fine, you have a slight adjustment to the camera angle and you can cover the lens if you want. Testing the camera in Mario kart world and Mario Party all worked as you'd expect. Not a super high resolution or frame rate, but then it kind of is a bit "gimmicky" anyways so not a major issue.
