Dreadful peeling casing
This particular model the casing is peeling off it and it looks dreadful. Don't know how you get royal warrantys. It looks so cheap and nasty and it definitely isn't cheap. Complained and you sent a second one and is exactly the same.

Great Little Radio :)
I just recently purchased this gorgeous little radio. I love the size, sound, and Union Jack design. It was pretty easy to set up and I really appreciate the EQ setting, although basic. The sound quality at all levels is also very good. I'm still fiddling with it to learn all of the not so obvious settings. However, the one thing I really dislike is the display, which is why I rated it 4 stars instead of five. All the other Roberts models have a much better, easy to read, modern display. This one is straight out of the last century. Why? I almost sent it back just for that reason, especially for the price I paid for it, but I'm hoping to learn to overlook it. And, all the other features do outweigh this one negative. Roberts, please consider updating the display on future models. Thank you for my adorable radio, which I hope to have for many years :)

Love the style and sound
I love Roberts radios, I had a rambler but when I saw the Union Jack revival I had to have it. It looks so good I’m still getting used to using it but up to now I’m very impressed.

Great sound and quality fascia, minor niggles.
Great sound and improved vastly on previous models as you can EQ the bass which is often heavy for some on Roberts boxes. Would give 5* but when using on battery in an FM only reception area - unit does not store the manually set time/clock/alarms. Big oversight - apparently to save battery [according to Roberts support]. Surprising flaw as when in a DAB area the time clock is auto synced to the DAB signal - which I’m pretty sure is more power intensive. This is not an issue if you use the radio plugged into the mains. Other very minor niggle is wasted space on underside that could have been better designed to incorporate 2 more AAs above the 4 AAs for longer portable use. Can’t speak to battery life but others report disappointment. But for all else - excellent unit and worth the premium personally for the lovely radio sound that does not break down at the high volumes (this is not a loud unit but plenty loud enough - quality sound perfect for small area/relatively close listening).
