Habitat Bamboo Butchers Block
This is a Great (Large and Heavy) End Grain cutting board. Just what I was looking for and, delighted I got extra discount in the sale so even better value. This is an excellent chopping board and we use also for serving of cheese selection, meats etc. It is a very nice addition to our kitchen. It is nice and "Chunky" and attractive wood grain pattern. I've seen some Reviewers say that you need to coat it with Olive Oil....I do NOT recommend you do this. Olive oil can go rancid over time and you end up with a stinky sticky mess.! Better use a good quality food safe oil like Tung Oil. (expensive but good.) You can also use Food Safe Mineral oil (popular from most big hardware stores. I used several applications 50/50 blend of mineral oil and natural pure beeswax. Comes up a treat and looks great. We have been using the board regularly over the last 6 months and it still looks perfect. If it starts to look a little tired, I'll just wash and reapply the Bees-Oil mix. I expect this board tp last a very long time... }8>)
