I bought this to replace an old Firestick. This is a huge improvement! Everything works as it should and it’s so fast compared to the old one. And cheaper at Argos than Amazon. Only gave it 4 stars as I couldn’t initially find the set up instructions - they are printed inside the box! So tried to set it up and failed and had to go on YouTube to find out how to sort it …

I have used Roku for many years and apart from the overheating issue they had with certain boxes have been very satisfied. They are easy to connect up and very easy to use. The amount of channels available is excellent…

Roku HD TV stick
Did exactly what it said on the box. Turned our old TV into a smart TV with all the channels you would expect. No problems with the set up, it was relatively easy. The Roku HD version is all you need for an older TV, so don't bother paying more. The picture quality is great, although it's really down to the resolution of your TV and the quality of the wifi signal. I would recommend this.

Don’t buy
I have an older version that works really well but wish I had read the reviews before I bought this. Remote doesn’t work half the time and it was really hard to set up because of this. After owning it for 4 days have already had to unplug to restart it more times than I can count. Deeply regret buying it.

Ok, if a little flimsy
The bed base looks OK, though seems a little flimsy. It slides around on the laminate floor, so I'm looking for ways to stop it.

Few issues
Bought this as an upgrade as old one stopped working. Experienced some issues. our TV USB output was not powerful enough so had to connect to a separate power source. Subtitles not being shown on BBC iPlayer so contacted Roku by phone who couldn’t resolve the issue. After over an hour we were cut off with no solution. Found the answer via the BBC iPlayer help pages in the end. Despite subtitles being “Always On” in the Roku accessibility option , within a programme being shown on iPlayer it is necessary to press the pause button to raise a prompt at the bottom of the screen to select subtitles. Roku didn’t seem to know this, and I suspect they were reading from preprepared crib sheets. Someone did mail me from Roku to offer further assistance but by then the problem was solved. It seems to be working as it should now. Fingers crossed.
