About this product
The Argos Home Riley High Sleeper gives you space underneath for storage, a desk, or seating without needing a bigger bedroom. It's a single metal frame with a white finish that fits most bedroom styles. The sturdy metal frame holds up to daily use, and high sides keep things safe at night. It's built for ages six and over, with a maximum user weight of 91kg. Metal slats support the mattress, no extra base needed. The ladder stays in a fixed position for stability.
The frame lifts the bed high enough to fit furniture underneath, making the most of floor space in smaller rooms. Safety rails rise 31cm above the mattress to prevent rolling out during sleep. Wall-mounting brackets must be used to secure the frame, they're included along with all fixings and clear instructions. Two people are recommended for assembly. The maximum mattress depth is 16cm to maintain safe rail height. Manufacturer's one year guarantee included.

Straightforward assembly, solid once built.
The bed is easy to put together and feels very sturdy once constructed. There were a few parts of the construction that took a bit of extra effort to clip home, but everything slotted together with a reassuring clunk in the end. The ladder would probably benefit from flat rather than round bars, as they're a little uncomfortable to climb, but otherwise no complaints – it's a really good height that allows for a lot of useable space underneath.

Daughter's now share a room so bought two to space save and have a room divider in the middle. We liked these as the girl's already had desks to put underneath, others this style all seem to have a desk as part of the bed which we didn't want. Easier to put together as no screws. The wall mounts were tricky to attach right at the end, should have instructed to put them on before the slats

The maximum mattress thickness for the bed is 16cm. A safety marking is shown on the vertical bar at the top of the ladder opening, and the mattress surface must not be higher than this line. This is a legal safety requirement.
The Argos Home Devon Essentials Single Mattress mattress does have the 16cm thickness as required.
