Good, but disappointing connectivity and setup
I recently purchased the Sony BRAVIA 3 50-inch television from Argos. The television has some good features, but my experience so far has been disappointing in several respects. The initial setup was more complicated than I expected. My biggest problem has been the internet connection. The TV repeatedly struggles to connect to my BT Smart Hub 2, even though my iPad and Freesat box connect to the same network without any problems. The TV connects successfully to my iPhone's hotspot, but the home Wi-Fi problem has returned after previously being resolved by changing the Wi-Fi frequency settings. I shouldn't have to keep changing network settings to get a new television connected to the internet. I am now having to investigate whether this is a compatibility issue or a problem with the TV itself. Overall, I expected a simpler setup and a more reliable experience from a new Sony television. I have decided to keep it for now, but the recurring connectivity problem has taken much of the enjoyment out of buying a new TV.

Google software is clunky.
I am quite disappointed in this tv, the google software is clunky and slow, sometimes it takes several minutes for the program guide to appear. It doesn’t work with Bravia sync like the other Sony tv’s I have, it will not switch off when I turn off my Sky box so I still have to use both remotes. On the up side the sound quality is better than older models.

Bought this 2 weeks ago and very disappointed. Image quality of off-air channels (except HDTV) is very poor and compare badly compared to Sony Bravia in our kitchen which is over 9 years old.

Bought it to replace a Sony tv I bought in 2011 which no longer worked. No problems with the broken tv for 15 years so bought another slightly larger Sony tv. Easy set - up, good picture and sound quality.

Thanks for the reply. The tv is capable of playing a fantastic picture because setting up my Netflix, Amazon, Now TV ect, it said, your tv is running at 1080p, do you want to upgrade for a fee, of course, and now the screen is stunning. So it has the capabilities if you pay in multiple subscriptions. However terrestrial tv is free, and nowhere in the settings can you upgrade the picture quality. Its like viewing tv in 90s - 2003. Please DO NOT BUY this tv. Its really upsetting for the money.

You would know if there was a film as it's clearly noted within the packaging and has tabs that you need to pull to remove it. The model here is stated to not have one.
In terms of your issue with the picture quality, we would suggest contact Sony on this to see if it's a display fault, they are best to answer the questions and troubleshooting as it's their product, we are just the selling platform.
