About this product
The Elmdon Deep Ortho Small Double Divan Bed provides restful sleep and solid support. Its firm orthopaedic mattress and stable divan base help you wake refreshed. The open coil spring system with 264 springs distributes weight evenly and maintains firmness all night. Soft cushioning layers contour to your body, while the damask quilted cover adds a smooth, comfortable surface. This no-turn mattress only requires regular rotation to perform well. The small double size fits compact bedrooms without compromising sleeping space.
The divan base supports the mattress with a sturdy fabric frame and chrome feet that raise it off the floor for easy cleaning underneath. It's delivered in three flat-pack sections for straightforward delivery and simple assembly with two people. The total bed height is 60cm, which works with standard bedding and makes getting in and out comfortable. Maximum user weight is 203kg, so it accommodates a wide range of sleepers. A one-year manufacturer's guarantee is included for reassurance.

Waste of money - not as described. Just "pants"
Softest "firm" mattress Ive ever experienced. Ordered this item specifically with a firm mattress and it couldnt be further from the truth. Unusable. Uncomfortable. Argos said they wouldnt change just the matttess as it came with the divan base (the base is fine) even though there's no one on Gods green earth that would describe it as firm and now *I* have to pay £30 to return it plus cost to take it back onto the mainland (I live on a Scottish island) from my own pocket as theyve sent me "the right item". Couldnt be more displeased or dissatisfied. False economy. Just save up and buy a Sealy or at least purchase the base and mattress seperately so if theres a problem, youre not stuck returning or keeping the whole unit. Pants.

Decent Bed For The Price
Bought for the Mrs to have down stairs after an operation as she'd be confined to bed for 8 weeks. The Bed is generally good, had some in the past where the skin on the base breaks and dips but this seems a bit more solid. It gets the OK for comfort from the invalid too. We didn't open for draws but you can easily feel/ see where they would have gone through the fabric. Feet are good so it doesn't creep across the carpet.

I bought this bed for when my 12yr nieces daughter stays which is not very often. The mattress was supposed to be firm but is soft the fabric covering the mattress has stretched and puckers up under the sheet. This mattress will be lucky to last a year or two. The frame is OK I draw sticks. I wish I had paid more money for a better bed and mattress.

The depth should be 22cm. Mattresses aren’t perfectly flat—pillowing, quilting, and shaped edges can make the stitched sides uneven. By placing a straight pole across the top and another across the bottom, you create two completely flat reference planes. This ensures you measure the actual maximum thickness, not the lower, inconsistent edge height.
How to Measure the Depth of a Mattress.
Place one straight pole (or a long straight object) across the top surface of the mattress so that it lies flat and level.
Place a second pole underneath the mattress, directly below the top one, ensuring it is also flat and level.
Measure the vertical distance between the two poles using a tape measure.
This measurement represents the true depth of the mattress, taken from the highest point of the top surface to the lowest point of the bottom surface, not from the stitched or quilted edges.

If the label states ‘non‑turn’, the mattress is not designed to be flipped over. However, you can still rotate it so the head end becomes the foot end, which helps maintain even wear.

No it is not 22cm measured with a flat board top of matteress and bottom of matteress it is still only 18cm also does not say on matteress that it is ortho sovery disoppointed with this item the description is very misleading
