Happy with Purchase
Pleased with the choice of 50” TV. Sound is good and set up and design were impressive. Picture quality is fine, but the one thing that could have been a little sharper.

A TV with various issues that let it down
This TV was slow compared to my previous 8-year old TV when first setup. Just the simple act of watching Live TV was difficult, even once everything had been updated. I suspect YouView was slowing it down, so avoid using it where possible. The trouble is you need YouView to access BBC iPlayer and other apps so you must use it in some form. Otherwise the picture is good. Its also a shame certain settings like the use of an external speaker are forgotten when you turn it off at the plug too, so I don’t do that to save electricity anymore! In all, a good TV thats let down by its user interface.

Great TV !
Bought this TV a couple of weeks ago. Extremely pleased with it. Purchased a Sony Bravia many years ago and decided to purchase again as can rely on the quality and value, have not been disappointed.

Doesn't record, bogged down with crippleware
The audio and visual qualities of this television are very good. That is where the good things end. It has YouView on it by default, which is acknowledged to be "crippleware" by almost everybody. It does not record in spite of the fact that it has a USB socket to connect an external HDD. So this is a confidence trick, designed to mislead customers. The tuner is very poor quality, missing major channels that are picked up by other television connected to the same aerial. It is possible to rid yourself of YouView by endless resets. You are stuck with Google TV. This is very expensive and extremely poor value for money.

Bit of a disappointment...
Bit of a disappointment, really. Not much of an improvement on the ten year-old JVC set that this one was bought to replace. (Incidentally, the latest equivalent JVC model would have cost a lot less than this one). No Teletext ( yes, I still use it); extremely fiddly and over- complicated when adjusting to personal preference (particularly the picture); and the instructions package is an absolute joke. Frankly, I expected a lot better from Sony.

Great upgrade!!
Overall a great upgrade to our 2019 Bravia, which suddenly developed a double image flicker.. Technology has advanced and the new model is a perfect combination of ease of use and super performance!

Great improvement
Went into Curry’s to buy a fridge & saw this Sony TV, could not leave without it. This 55” TV is a vast improvement on my old 42”, not only can I see any writing on the screen it is a vast improvement in every way. The colours & brightness are beyond amazing. The only issue I’ve had is sorting out the remote control to automatically select HDMI 2 for my Virgin Media

Hi Dave,
thank you for your question.
You can download any desired app on the K-43S3 using the Google Play Store, following the steps here: https://cutt.ly/GytDvX3G...
However, it's possible that some smartphone apps don't have an equivalent (yet) on Android or Google TV. Therefore, we recommend confirming this with the app provider directly.

Hi Steve,
thank you for your question.
No, the K-43S3 doesn't have Freesat as a built-in app; however, it has a built-in satellite tuner (DVB-S/DVB-S2) and a satellite input connection, allowing it to receive Freesat-compatible satellite broadcasts when connected to a suitable satellite cable.
You can learn more about how to receive satellite broadcasts on your TV here: https://cutt.ly/hyeMnQ1M...
If you're aiming to use a Freesat box, you can follow the steps here: https://cutt.ly/oyeMmwU6...

Thanks for the reply. The tv is capable of playing a fantastic picture because setting up my Netflix, Amazon, Now TV ect, it said, your tv is running at 1080p, do you want to upgrade for a fee, of course, and now the screen is stunning. So it has the capabilities if you pay in multiple subscriptions. However terrestrial tv is free, and nowhere in the settings can you upgrade the picture quality. Its like viewing tv in 90s - 2003. Please DO NOT BUY this tv. Its really upsetting for the money.
Hello Lisa,
I can advise the following for the Sony Bravia 3 43inch K43S35BP LED HDR 4K Ultra HD Google TV:
You would know if there was a film as it's clearly noted within the packaging and has tabs that you need to pull to remove it. The model here is stated to not have one.
In terms of your issue with the picture quality, we would suggest contact Sony on this to see if it's a display fault, they are best to answer the questions and troubleshooting as it's their product, we are just the selling platform.
Thanks for using Q & A.
