Colour issues but worked as primer!

Completely different colour to what was advertised
Don't be fooled, the colour you get is not a dark grey Anthracite, its a very pale grey. Fortunately I didn't open the tin so returned for a refund, but what a waste of time. Not your usual impeccable standard Argos!.

Good coverage and colour
I bought this to paint a pine fire surround. I put undercoat on even though it said not necessary then painted it three times. When dry I used wax and buffed. It looks great.

Hello there,
After checking with our supplier, they have advised for the Rust-Oleum Chalky Furniture Matt Paint 750ml - Anthracite: this is not suitable for tiles.
Thank you for using Q&A.
Hi Beth
Yes, the Rust-Oleum Chalky Furniture Paint 750ml - Anthracite is darker than the Rust-Oleum Chalky Furniture Paint 750ml - Flint.
Thanks for using Q&A.
Hi Molly
Re: Rust-Oleum Chalky Furniture Paint 750ml - Anthracite760/9772
Yes, the Chalky Furniture Paint can be used on a melamine cupboard. The paint contains a primer so there is no preparation to do other than making sure the surface is clean a dry before painting. To ensure the paint adheres to the melamine, two coats should be applied, leaving the first coat to dry for four hours before applying the second coat
Thanks for using Q & A
I reckon, yep, just give it a good sanding first for the paint to get some chance to get a purchase ...
Yes but I would maybe use Johnson’s any surface primer first, then good to go with your chalk paint. If it was a pine/ wooden cupboard I wouldn’t bother but melamine? Yes!
Hi there
Having checked with the supplier for you I can let you know the Chalky Furniture Paint is an interior paint only and therefore would not be suitable for outdoor use
Thanks for using Q & A
No - it is recommended for interior use only. I reckon you could though if you prepared to go the extra mile and seal it with a couple of coats of good quality outdoor matt varnish.
Hi,
I can confirm this is not suitable for use on fabric. We don't currently stock any fabric paint.
I hope this helps
Thanks for using Q&A
This is not suitable for use on fabric. It is a chalky emulsion and will not cover evenly.
This is a chalk paint and requires waxing after painting. From experience I would say it’s unsuitable for painting a staircase and more suited to single items of furniture. The surface does not need treatment prior to using this paint
Hi,
This paint can be used on a white silk surface, however the surface may need some preparation before being painted on.
Thanks for using Argos Q & A
Hi Jinty,
I have looked into this and this paint is water-based with virtually no odour.
Thank you for using Argos Q and A.
Hello Annie,
Thank you for your enquiry.
The Rust-Oleum Chalky Finish Furniture Paint is suitable for normal paintable surfaces such as bare and painted wood and primed metal for example, as marble is a very difficult surface for a paint to key to generally we do not feel that the Rust-Oleum Chalky Finish Furniture Paint would achieve an adequate key to provide a durable finish, we would not recommend it for use on this substrate.
Thank you for using Argos Q&A.
Hi Shelle,
