About this product
The Samsung HW-T420 brings proper punch to your TV setup with a 2.1 channel soundbar and dedicated wired subwoofer that transform how films, shows and games sound. With enough power split between the soundbar and subwoofer, you get that deep, room-filling bass you feel as much as hear, whilst the AI-optimised sound adapts scene-by-scene so dialogue stays clear and action sequences hit hard. At around 86cm wide, it fits most living room setups without overwhelming your space, and there's a dedicated game mode that amplifies the audio for more immersive gaming sessions.
Setup's straightforward with Bluetooth for wireless connection to your TV, plus optical audio and USB inputs if you need them, and the soundbar's compatible with Dolby and DTS technology for properly cinematic sound. Wall-mount brackets are included in the box if you'd rather mount it under your screen, and you get a remote control with battery plus Samsung's One Remote Control compatibility if you've got a Samsung telly. The soundbar and subwoofer are both compact and light enough to position easily, and the whole system comes with a 1-year manufacturer's guarantee.

The supplier has advised the following for the Samsung HW - T420 2.1Ch Sound Bar with Wired Subwoofer:
"The Samsung HW?T420 soundbar comes with a wired subwoofer, however the cable length is not officially specified by Samsung. In most cases, it is approximately 2–3 metres, which is designed for standard room placement.
Please note, the subwoofer uses a proprietary connection, so it is not designed to be extended using a standard cable. Attempting to extend or modify the cable may affect performance and is not recommended."

The Samsung HW-T420 2.1Ch Sound Bar with Wired Subwoofer connects directly to the TV. You can connect the subwoofer to the soundbar using an RCA cable, and the soundbar will automatically connect to the subwoofer when powered on. If the connection does not work automatically, you can manually connect them by following the instructions provided in the user manual.

Ignore the previous answer. This soundbar doesnt have hdmi, so their advice is pointless. If you dont want to use Bluetooth and dont hhave optical input in your TV then youd hhave to choose a different soundbar. Im shocked this doesnt have hdmi, optical is outdated.

The supplier has advised the following for the Samsung HW - T420 2.1Ch Sound Bar with Wired Subwoofer:
"The Samsung HW-T420 soundbar primarily connects using an optical (digital audio) cable. If the customer’s TV does not have an optical port and they do not wish to use Bluetooth, the only alternative connection method would be HDMI-ARC, provided the TV supports it.
If the TV has an HDMI port labelled ARC, the customer can connect the soundbar using a standard HDMI cable and select the appropriate input on the soundbar. This would allow the TV to output its audio through the soundbar without using the optical connection.
However, if the TV does not have an optical port, does not support HDMI-ARC, and Bluetooth is not an option the customer wants to use, then unfortunately there would be no compatible wired method to connect this particular soundbar to the TV."
