Does the kob
This air conditioner really drops the temperature in our bedroom but it is Loud! I can sleep through as I actually find the noise soporific but my husband cannot so defeats the object really on a hot night. It’s good that it comes with its own window seal kit which helps for quick set up

Great Cooling & Heating
Decent solid this air con & heater unit. Ideal when it's both too hot or too cold Loses a star as you still need to vent the exhaust hose out of the window when using as a heater (so you have to open your window on a cold day). That being said, it heats up incredibly quickly, even quicker than it cools in air con mode you can adjust the temperature of your room -2/+4 degress celcius within 20 mins or so (cool/heat)

Good quality
I bought this a month ago and it does cool the room, although it might take a while to reach the desired temperature of the room. But overall, it is good value for money as you can adjust it remotely via your phone or Alexa. It can be a bit noisy though.

Delivered upside down
Argos delivered this air conditioner to my house upside down. It specifically states on the box "Please transport upright". But argos transported this upside down and placed it in my house upside down. I hope this has not caused any long term damage to the unit, or voided the warranty. I took photos of the delivery. I left it upright for 24 hours before turning it on for the first time. It seems to be working OK, the AC does its job and cools the room right down, literally like you are in a freezer. The temperature can be adjusted to suit your needs. It also has a fan only mode and also dehumidifier mode which I have not used yet. It comes with a window kit which was fairly easy to install even though the instructions are not very detailed, you can just search on YouTube. The only downside is that it is very noisy, even on the low speed. I have it in my living room and I have to turn my TV volume up high because of the noise of this machine. But in the bedroom it is OK as I can fall asleep, I'm used to fan noise so it doesn't bother me. Overall this is a good machine but only downside is that it is very noisy.

Excellent Air Con Unit
I bought this for the recent heatwave and it did not let me down. Yes it is noisy, which Aircon units aren't, but it cools the room efficiently and effectively. The flexible window kit is a great plus. Yes the exhaust pipe isn't long so you'll need to ensure the unit can be close to a window. The design and quality of the product is exactly what you expect from Meaco and of course what you pay for. Highly recommend.

Hi Dan,
Meaco Cool MC 8000CHBTU Air Conditioner
On checking the manual I can see this runs down to 15°C.
Thanks for using Q and A.
Hello Mizi,
The supplier has advised the following for the Meaco Cool MC 8000CHBTU Air Conditioner:
“ No, a hole in the wall is not needed, we provide two types of window kits are included: the Standard window kit and the Flexible window kit (approximately 4 meters in length and 39 cm in maximum width). You only need to use one kit, depending on the type of window you have. We recommend using the Standard window kit for sliding windows and doors, and the Flexible window kit for all other window types.
Not to say that venting through a wall is not an option, many customers have let us know that they have done this, the important thing to note is to allow adequate space for the duct to pass through the hole and avoid restricting the air flow by reducing the duct as this can overwhelm the unit with excessive build up as it’s unable to pass/vent as designed.
Please seek advice regarding the hole from a professional in that field. ”
Thanks for using Q & A.
Yes you need to put the air pipe duct outside through the window. The window kit is included inside the box. The pipe is 150mm diameter, and 1.8 meters long.
Hi Adam,
No, the Meaco Cool MC 8000CHBTU Air Conditioner should not be placed upside down.

Hello Jimbo.
After contacting our suppliers they have advised for the Meaco Cool MC 8000CHBTU Air Conditioner.
The temperature can be set between 16°C and 32°C using the increase and decrease buttons. The air conditioner will run until the desired temperature is reached (the compressor will turn off, but the fan will continue to run). If the temperature in the environment increases above the target temperature, the air conditioner will automatically come back on.

Hello George.
After contacting our suppliers they have advised for the Meaco Cool MC 8000CHBTU Air Conditioner.
Yes, the hose (i.e. duct) always needs to be connected and vented out of a window or suitable outlet. This is because the air con works as a heat exchanger, it pulls warm air from the room, cools it, and then needs to expel the hot air it removes. Without using the hose to vent that hot air outside, the warm air would just stay in the room, cancelling out the cooling effect. So for the air conditioner to work properly, the hose must always be used.
Thank you for using Q&A.
I think so, Yes
Hello there,
This Meaco Cool MC 8000CHBTU Air Conditioner uses R290 refrigerant - it does not need to be filled with water or ice.
However if used on Dry Mode, Heat Mode or in other humid conditions it will need the attached drainage hose to be used to remove any build-up of water inside the water tank.
Thanks for using Q&A.
