Disappointed and would recommend the cheaper U8000
In the last few months I've bought two Samsung 65 inch U8000F TV's that I am extremely happy with. Tbh I had considered a couple of months back whether to upgrade the JVC to a Samsung as I was so very happy with Samsung TV's I recently bought but I decided it wasn't really worth it as I was still happy overall with the JVC. All that changed when my grandson broke the JVC by accident over Christmas, so I thought as I had been so happy with the Samsung U8000's then I'd spend a bit more and go for the QLED, I looked online and read the reviews and comparisons and they all consistently said that the QE55QEF1AU was a much better TV than the U8000F, so I decided to go with the online advice. The service at Argos was excellent, they had an offer for Free Same Day Delivery due to the Boxing Day sales so I placed the order and the TV arrived that evening. The first thing to notice is that the QE55QEF1AU only comes with one remote rather the two that are supplied with the U8000F, which felt a bit budget rather than an upgrade tbh. The setup of the TV was effortless, and exactly the same as the U8000F, you can just scan a QR code and perform the whole setup on your smart phone. Also same as the U8000F then you can control the QE55QEF1AU with your smart phone so in effect your phone becomes an additional remote; like I say the setup was a breeze. In terms of picture quality I would honestly say that it isn't as good as the U8000F or the JVC, it is a great picture quality but not superb, which is how I would have described the U8000F or JVC in my opinion. I have given the TV 2 stars (fair) due to the fact that the sound quality is rubbish and I'd say we can watch the Samsung or the previous JVC on say any volume setting between 14 and 20 whereas with the QE55QEF1AU we have had it at 50 plus, usually around the 70% volume level which is only as loud as the others on say 20! The sound quality is pretty poor and a complete let down if I am honest, and I wish I'd just purchased another U800000F! Another let down is that I already had a sound bar that I use very infrequently that was set up to the JVC with an Optical Out cable, but the upgraded QE55QEF1AU doesn't even have an Optical Out port. All in all I regret my decision to purchase this TV and like I say I wish I had gone for the cheaper U80000F which is a much better TV in my opinion.
