However, if you open the disc tray, disconnect the USB device, play other content, or turn off the player, the resume point may be cleared from memory.

No, the player is primarily designed to be connected to TVs and cannot be connected to a soundbar, as it the player doesn't output sound. The player only transfers the data on the disc being played to the TV, and the sound comes through the TV.
Alternatively, you can connect the soundbar to your TV instead.

The player has a region code printed on the bottom of the unit and will only play BD-ROMs/DVD VIDEOs labelled with identical region codes.
