Perfectly good enough and very good value
Bought these for my stepdad who has quite advanced dementia, so it's difficult to communicate with him at the best of times and certainly bad for him not to be able to hear and try to engage in conversation. We had struggled with his expensive (£ thousands) private hearing aids he'd bought a long time ago before dementia, never really having confidence that they were working well, and the firm hadn't really been able to fix them. Finally he lost one and the other stopped working at all, so while awaiting an audiology referral for NHS hearing check, I came across these on sale for £16 each and couldn't be more pleased. Immediately he is much more responsive and always seems to hear us now (which hasn't happened for years). They're very simple and not at all "hidden", and I suspect they hiss a bit more than the expensive ones, but they work perfectly well enough and cost less than 1% of those.

Bargain. And did the trick!
Bought my dad this recently when he was in hospital, because his had broken and he wasn’t well enough to get to a repair appointment, but without a hearing aid he can’t hear a thing and was getting really upset / frustrated with the doctors and nurses (and me!). There are three sizes of ear bud included and two batteries. I had read reviews on here that said the batteries didn’t last so I bought an extra pack of batteries too. It worked a treat! The middle ear bud size worked well, and the batteries did need changing a couple of times a day but he had it on non-stop. He suffers with ear infections usually and using this dried his ear up too as he felt the air could circulate better and he said it was clearer than his NHS issued hearing aid. Really recommend for the price if you just need something to tide you over! Compared to Specsavers starting at £495, it felt like a much more sensible quick fix for £21 plus the cost of batteries.

Cut price hearing aid.
The cost of the hearing-aid is very affordable when compared to more advanced products. The sound quality is not perfect but the is clear enough to hear and understand what is being said. Therefore good value for money.

Useless
Bought for my wife to use while on NHS wait list. Specifically for small group meetings at local library. It exaggerated noise of outside traffic more than voices. New battery needed for each use although switched off . Basically not fit for purpose. I tried it out and concluded that it might be marginally useful for listening to TV in a quiet room. No good for conversations.
