After checking with our supplier, they have advised for the Tikkers Kids Navy Series 13 Smart Watch: Our smartwatches uses multi axis inertial sensors called accelerometers.

These detect wrist movement and the walking motion to measure step count.

It is worth noting, some wrist movements whilst sitting or standing may mimic or falsely record steps.

Please use the step count as a guide only The calories, distance, pace etc are calculated using the steps measured via wrist movement on the watch during the day/activity and are based on an algorithm dependant on your age, weight, this information is based on the general public.

Please also note resting calories are not taken into consideration.

When completing activities such as cleaning, driving, pushing a pushchair, holding a pet’s lead, or using walking aids, this may or may not detect steps as a natural walking motion is not being detected.

This is typical of all fitness trackers without GPS software and therefore should not be measured against such, for example, a smartphone or Fitbit.
