Easy to determine volume levels
I bought this because of the lit up blue glass effect as my partner has recently had a stroke and has visual issues. Unlike most kettles with a narrow strip to check the water level the whole kettle lights up

Disappointingly poor build quality.
I chose Russell Hobbs based on previous quality but was disappointed in the poor build quality of this kettle given the higher cost of this appliance. Kettle moves on the base when boiling.

Helpful for seeing limescale build up!
Pleased with this kettle. The limescale build up can be seen and so easily wiped away.

Same again!
Replaced our previous identical model which we’d had for donkey’s years with the same again. It’s a fab kettle with sturdy construction and modern look. Would definitely recommend.

Good product
Quick to boil and nice and quiet.
Mini
Good for one cup or full kettle.
We bought this to replace another kettle which had a smoother on/off switch and lid button, but iridescent glass, which made it hard to see through. The controls on this are still OK though. The flip-up lid is much better than a lid you have to pull off as in some models .The power cord is only about 45cm long, which may be a bit short for some people. This kettle has clear glass and you can easily see how much water you've put in, even for just one cup. The measurement markings are on two sides and seem pretty accurate. Boils quickly although the cut-out time could be slightly shorter. I imagine this could vary slightly among different kettles of the same model. Seems fairly quiet. Selecting the star rating on this review form is confusing—I have selected Design 4, Boiling Speed 4, Capacity 5, so I hope it shows up correctly.

Hello Nikki,
The Russell Hobbs Illuminating Black Glass Kettle 21600-10 is not rapid boil.
Thank you for using Q and A.
Hi Som.
Limescale is built up from the water provided, however the Russell Hobbs Illuminated Matte Black Kettle 27550, does have a limescale filter so that this is not transferred to your drinks.
Limescale may build up and need to be removed in most kettles.
Hope this helps
