About this product
The Decathlon Arpenaz Fresh and Black Tent keeps family camping straightforward with colour-coded poles and a freestanding structure that stands up before you peg it down. Four people fit comfortably in the two-room layout, with a stand-up living area for storing gear, changing clothes, or relaxing between adventures. Fresh and Black technology blocks sunlight and keeps the interior cooler during the day, so you get better rest even when the sun's already up.
The sewn-in basin groundsheet stops water seeping in during wet weather, while mosquito nets keep insects outside where they belong. Fibreglass poles slot into matching colour-coded sleeves for quick assembly, and the tunnel design creates headroom throughout. Includes guy ropes and tent pegs for secure pitching in soft ground. The polyester build with taped seams handles regular outdoor use, and two lantern hanging points let you add light when evening arrives.

Now then what can I say about this tent? Well we were certainly thrown into the deep end with it,we had the mother of all storms right on the coast, wind, rain & thunder it survived the 45 minute storm. Now then the black out is not as blackout as they make out we blatantly had sunlight come thru at stupid o clock, I have a 2 berth of the same make and that has better black out than this one. Both doors are not secure either if you want to leave and go off somewhere.

Hello Dee,
Thank you for reaching out to our Q&A service regarding the Quechua Arpenaz 4.1 Fresh & Black tent.
To answer your question, the outer front entrance door does not zip closed along the bottom edge; it only zips vertically down the sides. The bottom edge hangs free to form a weather flap over the groundsheet.
Here is how the front entrance is designed to function:
1. The Outer Main Door (No Bottom Zip)
When you pull the zippers down the left and right sides to close the main outer canvas door, there is no horizontal zipper along the ground. This design prevents you from having to step over a high fabric lip, reducing the risk of tripping. To keep it secure in heavy weather, simply peg the bottom corners tightly.
2. The Living Area Groundsheet (Basin Style)
The floor mat in the living area features a "basin" style groundsheet. At the front entrance, this mat can be folded flat to remain flush with the ground. In heavy rain, you can manually lift the front edge of the groundsheet and toggle it into a raised "bathtub" position to block running groundwater from entering under the unzipped bottom flap.
3. The Bedroom Pod Door (Fully Zipped)
To protect against insects and drafts while you sleep, the inner blackout bedroom pod features a 360-degree zipper that seals completely along the bottom edge, ensuring a fully bug-proof capsule.
In summary, the outer front door zips down the sides but remains unzipped at the bottom, relying on a weather overlap and a liftable basin floor mat to keep the elements out.
Hello Nik,
Thank you for contacting our Q&A service regarding the Decathlon Arpenaz and MH100 XXL Fresh & Black 4-person tents.
These specific models do not include a dedicated, zipped cable entry port for an electric hook-up (EHU). As entry-level, budget-friendly options, they are designed without this feature to maintain an affordable price point.
If you need to run an electric cable into the tent, we recommend the following steps to ensure safety and protection from the elements:
- Main Door Entry: Run the cable through the bottom corner of the main living area door. Pull the zippers down so they meet snugly around the cable to minimize gaps.
- Bedroom Access: Once inside the living area, you can pass the cable through the corner of the bedroom compartment zip.
Important Safety Precautions:
- Drip Loop: Always ensure there is slack in the cable outside the tent that hangs lower than the entry point. This "drip loop" prevents rainwater from traveling along the wire and into your living space.
- Keep the Reel Inside: Ensure your electric hook-up box remains inside the tent and off the ground to keep it dry and protected.

Hello Steph,
Yes, you will be able to stand up inside. Please note, the height of the living area is 172cm. Thank you for using Q&A!
Hello Alex,
The zippers for both the main entrance and the sleeping compartment are standard and do not include integrated locking mechanisms. However, you can enhance security by using small padlocks or zipper locks. Thank you for using Q&A!
Hello Martin,
We test our tents to validate their waterproofing. The first test is done in the laboratory, 3 hours under 200 liters of water per hour per sqm, equivalent to 200 mm tropical rain per hour. The second test is done in the field under real-life conditions by our teams. This tent is fitted with a polyurethane-coated polyester flysheet measuring 2,000 mm. It also has seams that have been waterproofed with heat-sealed strips, and a 140 g/sqm polyethylene groundsheet.
