Brought this to replace the one I already had, my cat managed to break the door. After phoning sureflap for a replacement door, I was informed they no longer supply them for old models, (2012). The design is slightly different,in that you will be able to replace parts without having to remove the whole thing like in the old model.

Cheapened design
I needed a replacement cat flap do ordered the same spec. Size was perfect, fitted in existing hole in door. However they have changed the hinge material I believe and once the flap was fully opened after my cat passed through, it stayed open and aloft, leaving the cat flap useless, letting in not only any other cats but all the cold weather too. May as well have left the hole in the door.

Yes, the SureFlap Microchip Cat Flap can fit into an existing hole. If you have a pre-cut hole, you can install the cat flap using a cat flap mounting adaptor. Ensure that the hole is the correct size for the flap to function properly. For glass doors, a pane with a pre-cut hole is required, and a glazier can supply this.

The SureFlap Microchip Cat Flap works with all common identification microchips & RFID collar tags (not included).
Selective entry – any animal can exit. The microchip reader is located on the outside of the cat flap only.
This cat flap also has a manual lock which stops your cat leaving or entering the house. Set to in-only to enable your cat to come indoors without being able to get out again.
There is a DualScan Microchip Cat Flap which can set exit permissions for each pet to keep specific pets indoors using DualScan technology.

After checking with our supplier, they have advised for SureFlap Microchip Cat Flap.
If the batteries run out, the cat flap will remain locked. Therefore, it's important to replace the batteries promptly when the low battery indicator starts flashing.
