About this product
Cats coming and going on their own schedule makes life easier, but neighbourhood strays wandering into your kitchen at 3am disrupt peace. The SureFlap Microchip Cat Flap uses your cats existing microchip as an electronic key to keep out intruders while letting your cats move freely. Suitable for small to medium cats up to 6kgs, it stores up to 32 cats without collars. Battery powered with 4xAA batteries and works with all microchips, it gives independence without unwanted visitors.
The 4-way lock controls access completely - in only, out only, open or locked - which helps during vet visits or when you want them safely indoors. The plastic construction wipes clean and fits into glass, wood and most PVC doors, though glass installations need a mounting adaptor. Flap size of 142mm wide by 120mm high suits cats with shoulder width up to 14.2cm. It fits most standard cat flaps without complicated DIY work.

Lock so noisy our cats refuse to use it
Had this for nearly a month as we're plagued by a large cat coming in. It's easy to programme but neither of our cats will use it as the very loud click it makes unlocking puts them off so a waste of money for us.

microchip is awesome
just means cats can be independent and own thing without me. I put one in 8 years ago and they do start letting in smoke from outside and leaver to keep cats out stops working after a while. I got Huntington's disease and was able to swap over to a newer cat flap.

Microchip Catflap
I bought this as a replacement for my 12 year old Catflap. It was the same model, so fitted in without altering the door. At £70 was a very good price too.

Great Product
This is a fantastic product, easy to install and set up. Will only unlock when it senses my cats microchip so prevents the other neighbourhood cat from entering. Really happy with this purchase.

Cat Flap
SureFlap Microchip Cat Flap, it is generally regarded as one of the better microchip-operated cat flaps available. As I’ve had one before I wouldn’t buy any other

Great for cats who won’t wear a collar.
This was purchased to allow my cat access to our property and to prevent access to another visitor who has also been coming into our home. We had set up an infra red camera to discover another cat accessing the house via the cat flap. My cat would not wear a collar, so this microchip cat flap is a brilliant solution. It is easy to set up, well very easy, and has worked perfectly. It fitted into the patio door, in the same place as the previous cat flap, with no adjustments required. Two screws and it was fitted! After instillation, we kept the infra red camera set and and the following evening captured our cat using the cat flap and the intruder not gaining access. A brilliant invention, and a great product thus far.

Renewed security
Cat flap was installed today - a replacement for a previous SureFlap which lasted many years. Hoping for the same longevity this time. My cat has found no problems and with clearer vision with a new flap has spent ages looking through his personal window! Has kept another intruder cat out now the cat flap has recognised my cat’s microchip- excellent result.
Flap
Works wonderfully
Easy to fit and once the cat had been encourage to get close and have the chip registered all was great. No more neighbourhood cats coming in and eating all the food - brilliant and looks good

Hello Lisa,
SureFlap Microchip Cat Flap.
The flap has a central magnet that helps prevent it from swinging in the wind.
Thanks for using Q&A
Hello there,
The supplier has advised for the SureFlap Microchip Cat Flap: The microchip cat flap can be fitted to a bathroom door and is suitable for allowing your cats access to the room. However, as the flap is not 100% draught-free, it is unlikely to fully contain odours as well.
In terms of hygiene, the product itself is designed for pet use and can be cleaned regularly,
Thank you for using Q&A.
Hello DaveD,
The supplier has advised the following for the SureFlap Microchip Cat Flap:
When changing the batteries on the SureFlap, the chip does not need to be reprogrammed as it stays in memory.

Hello Anna,
The supplier has advised the following for the SureFlap Microchip Cat Flap:
Unfortunately, with the SureFlap Microchip Cat Flap you cannot set a cat as “indoor only.” The flap can only be set to either allow all registered cats to go in and out, or to lock access for all cats.
If you would like to keep one cat indoors while allowing other cats to go in and out freely, you would need either the SureFlap DualScan Microchip Cat Flap or the SureFlap Microchip Cat Flap Connect with Hub, as these models allow you to control exits permissions for individual cats.
Thank you for using Q and A.
Hello Mich,
The supplier has advised the following for the SureFlap Microchip Cat Flap:
Although the model has changed, the installation dimensions and accessories remain the same, so there is no need for them to be replaced.
Thank you for using Q and A.
Hi Edna,

Hello Daisy.
After checking with our supplier, they have advised for SureFlap Microchip Cat Flap.
When you put the cat flap into scan mode to register the microchip by pressing the Add Pet button, the light begins to flash and the grey catch drops down. As soon as the cat passes through the flap, the microchip is registered. The light then stops flashing and the catch pops back up.
Thank you for using Q & A.
