About this product
The Miele Guard L1 Allergy is a corded cylinder vacuum that delivers serious cleaning power with a HEPA AirClean filter that captures 99.999% of dust and allergens. Made in Germany and tested for the equivalent of 20 years of use, it's built to last and brilliant for anyone with allergies or pets. The 3.5l dustbag capacity means you won't be changing it constantly, and there's an indicator to let you know when it's full.
It has 4 adjustable power levels and the Comfort handle 2.0 for easy manoeuvring. The 8.5m cord offers plenty of reach and rewinds with a foot pedal. Weighing 6.4kg, it's heavier than a cordless stick but typical for a powerful cylinder vacuum. The adjustable floorhead works on carpets, rugs, hard floors, and laminate. Included are crevice, upholstery, dusting and combination floor nozzles. The 2m hose extends to 2.2m with chrome telescopic tubes. Running at around 75 decibels, it's quieter than many cylinder vacuums and suits carpets, hard floors, upholstery and stairs.

Diffucult to maneovre on rugs.
States it moves easily on both hard and carpeted floor, however, I found it very difficult to manoeuvre on rugs. Couldn't turn suction down to a suitable level.

Excellent vacuum cleaner, I used it on my expensive mattress, sofa, curtains, hard floors - the attachments are all very easily stored and the handle to brush adapter is an excellent idea. It’s easy to extend, click and push or click and pull. It’s surprisingly quiet, but powerful, and obviously the hepa filter takes in and keeps the particles from floating around in the air. I’ve moved away from Dyson and think I’ll stay with Miele provided it’s reliable (unlike my old Dyson)

An improvement in most areas, if you need HEPA, this is the one to buy.
This is my third allergy vacuum from Miele. As the years have gone by, they seem to be getting better, but I miss the parquet floor device. The little hole to quickly reduce power has gone too. I am getting used to the handle device which is probably better for posture. The four wheels design is much better than the previous three; doesn't tip over when changing direction. The new foot controls are very nice and easy, but I did accidently open the attachment compartment every time I pressed on/off. I have since learnt to adapt. The HEPA filter is working as expected with my allergies kept at bay. Looks good too.
