About this product
The Habitat Compact Folding Office Desk gives you a proper workspace without tying up your room permanently. It's got a sturdy powder-coated steel frame with a wood-effect finish, that industrial look that works in spare rooms, kitchens or bedrooms. The work surface gives you plenty of room for a laptop, papers and your usual bits and pieces. When you're done for the day, it folds down flat and tucks away behind a door or under a bed, so you've got your space back for whatever else you need it for.
There's no assembly needed, it arrives fully ready to use straight out of the box. The steel frame keeps everything stable while you're working, and it'll hold up to 20kg, so there's room for a monitor or stack of books if you need them. The red powder coating protects the frame from minor knocks and daily wear. It's the right height for standard office chairs, with plenty of space underneath so you can sit comfortably. A one-year manufacturer's guarantee is included.

Great small desk
Bought this last week to create a temporary workspace and it’s great. Bought the wood finish one. Slid it out the box folded it open and was up and running in seconds. Very stable and will do the job. Enough surface for a laptop and monitor.

The table was all that I expected, a simple straightforward folding desk. A good height, very stable, although the folding and unfolding is a bit clunky. Looks good with a solid wood finish and has space for more than 1appliance plus keyboard & mouse. Satisfied.

Great but…
Great sturdy desk and space saving as foldable but it comes shrink wrapped in plastic that states it must be removed. When you remove it it pulls off latge areas of the glossy desk top finish!

Solid as a rock
Absolutely excellent. I bought the desk to put my overlocker on - it makes other tables wobble quite alarmingly - but because of the design of this one, not only is it as steady as a rock, it pushes right back to the wall in my sewing room. I don’t know how long the shiny newness will last, but for £50, it would be hard to beat this for value. You don’t even need to put this together - straight out of the box and into service.

Solid small foldable desk.
I have been using this foldable desk since last week, and it's a solid working desk if you're short of space. I've used it with a laptop, then with a desktop computer and a screen. Easy to fold and put away when not needed.

Fine except the surface coating
DO NOT remove the “protective film”, regardless of what the sticker on the surface says! The film wraps the top and extends under the coloured coating, so in taking it off I ended up peeling a large portion of the white coating off :(

Not great…
I have removed the plastic covering as per the instructions and it has left a sticky residue all over the desk top also you can’t remove the covering from the side of the desk without ripping the covering underneath. Really disappointed as the desk itself is just what I was looking for.

The Habitat Compact Folding Office Desk - White is made from MDF (medium-density fibreboard), which is not designed to withstand high temperatures. Placing a hot saucepan or any other hot cookware directly on the desk could scorch or burn the surface.
