This is the story of an unexpected encounter between Mario and the irreverent Rabbids. The Mushroom Kingdom has been torn apart by a mysterious vortex, transporting the Rabbids into the once-peaceful area, splintering this beloved land. To bring order back to the Kingdom, Mario, Luigi, Princess Peach, and Yoshi team up with Rabbids heroes in a journey through four different worlds.
Mario, Luigi, Peach, and Yoshi will join forces with four Rabbids heroes, each with their own unique personalities: boastful Rabbid Mario, fearful Rabbid Luigi, sassy Rabbid Peach, and off-his-rocker Rabbid Yoshi.
Mario and his friends will use never-before-seen weapons to engage in combat with their foes. With an arsenal of more than 250 weapons with unique statistics and specificities, players will choose how best to equip each of their eight heroes.

Turn-based battle gaming with a fun twist!
I bought this game for my Nintendo Switch a few months ago and absolutely love it! But please note that you are simply purchasing a plastic game cover with the code for game download and not the physical game cartridge - though I didn't mind that personally :)

Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle is one of the most unexpected – and most enjoyable – strategy games on the Nintendo Switch. At first glance, pairing the whimsical world of Mario with the chaotic Rabbids sounds odd, but it works incredibly well and offers a fresh twist on both franchises. Gameplay is turn-based strategy, similar to XCOM, but simplified just enough to make it accessible for newcomers while still offering plenty of depth. Each character has unique weapons and abilities, and you’ll need to think carefully about positioning, cover, and teamwork to get through tougher battles. It’s both challenging and rewarding. The humour throughout is great – the Rabbids bring a lot of slapstick comedy, and the fusion with the Mario universe leads to some hilarious and creative moments. The environments are colourful and imaginative, and the soundtrack is surprisingly epic. The only minor downsides are a slightly slow pace between battles and the lack of voice acting, which could have made the story scenes more engaging. But these are small issues in an otherwise polished and fun experience. Not your usual Mario game. it's a turn based strategy game. Lovely bright scenes and graphics. Kids loved to play. It was a little tricky at the start to try and understand how to play, but they grasped it and enjoyed it.
