The texture of the paint is really chalky. However, after I painted it, it had a rough appearance on the furniture.

“ We would need to know what type of stone the paint is being used on and what the project is. Generally for stone, we would recommend using a primer first to seal the surface which will aid adhesion of the paint. ”

The Chalky Furniture Paint is not recommended for use on fabrics and faux leather.

Hi you can use it on faux leather but paint it in think layers. At first may seem rough but you can use fine sandpaper to lightly sand it to make it softer. Also look up Annie Sloan on YouTube as she shows how to paint furniture, fabric chairs etc. With fabric she tends to wet the area first.

I can confirm the Chalky Furniture Paint is suitable to be used on mahogany. The paint has a primer built-in so there is no need to sand the surface. The only preparation needed is to ensure the surface is clean and dry.
Top tip – allow the first coat to dry for 4 hours before applying a second. Finish with Furniture Finishing Wax (739/8454) to seal and protect the paint or use the Furniture Lacquer (745/8789) if the surface gets a lot of use – such as a table top or chair seat.
