I bought this as my daughter was ill and was running a temp. This worked really well and help us a lot.

Does the job most of the time
Got this during flu season. It goes under the arm. You select the mode (age) and wait foe the reading. Its mostly accurate, however, sometimes gives a really cold reading. Not sure why.

This device its good and i like it you can select the age of a child. When you turn on the thermometer the displaybseem to have backlight for a while I just haven't find out how to lit the display later on

Handy thermometer easy to use
I bought this when I came down with a fever. Was only £10. Has a handy colour coded system. Green if correct temperature, orange if high and red if extremely high (seek medical attention). Also has a sound code as well. Works for both babies and adults.

Different readings all the time
This thermometer is easy to handle and fast. I only need it for adults and the age precision function is a bit annoying, because you have to set it every time - not a huge deal, just a couple of clicks, but still unnecessary. The real issue for me is the variation in measurements, not only between mouth and underarm (which, incredibly, is often the difference between fever and not) but also in consecutive readings in any one position... Maybe this is because it's so sensitive and accurate, but frankly this doesn't help, because you have to take several back-to-back measurements to get a sense of what's really going on with your body. As far as I'm concerned, this defeats the purpose, and I will be returning to the good old manual one.

The Age Precision feature allows you to select the age group (0-3 months, 3-36 months, and 36+ months) to ensure accurate readings for different age groups, including adults. To take an adult temperature, simply select the 36+ setting.

However, you may simply ignore the age setting when using the thermometer. The device will still provide accurate temperature readings without the need to set an age range.
We would suggest the Braun High Speed 3-in-1 Thermometer, PRT1000, as an alternative, as it does not feature the Age Precision technology. Please note that our healthcare devices are intended for home use only. Use of the thermometer for public purposes may invalidate the warranty.

Plus, the warranty doesn't cover damages from misuse like this.

Hello, Ludlow! Thank you for your question. We have a section about the Age Precision colour coding in the manual, page 4 and 5, which you will find at the following link in PDF:

The Age Precision feature is not intended to interpret hypothermic temperatures. As a result, the display will not show a colour below 35,7 for babies and 35.3 for adults (underarm).
