About this product
Carbon monoxide's got no smell, no colour, no warning signs. That's why they call it the silent killer. This alarm alerts you if levels get dangerous, and it'll let you know when the sensor's reached the end of its life so you're never running on empty. It's small enough to sit on a shelf or you can mount it on the wall or ceiling. Runs on two AA batteries which come in the box, so no wiring needed. Hush button silences false alarms, test button checks it's working. BSI certified and factory-tested before it leaves. This twin pack gives you coverage for two rooms or floors.
Battery-powered operation means you can place it anywhere without hunting for a socket. The hush function stops nuisance beeping when you've burnt the toast. Test feature lets you verify it's functioning properly. Certified to EN50291-12018 standards and CE tested. Suitable for flats, houses, caravans and most UK properties.

Kidde's play to assemble: seems very good product
Easy to set up and seems well-made. Options for placement. Convenience of having batteries in the pack. Test alarm is cleverly designed with two separate siren sounds, the second louder than the first. Luckily I have not had to test its detection of, and responsiveness to an actual CO build-up!

Good find - and timely
I started having problems with my CO detectors and immediately concluded that I should replace them. Once you make that decision, you need them immediately and I was able to get this 2-pack from an "Argos in Sainsbury's" store which is about 5 minutes' walk away. That means they were installed within an hour or so of deciding I needed them. Batteries were included along with fixings. I did the self-test and everything looks good. (If they trigger and save my life, I'll come back and up my rating to 5 stars!)

Replacement for identical ten year old predecessor
This was a direct replacement for an identical product that I had bought over ten years ago. During this time, the alarm proved 100% reliable and the only difference is that the new one takes two AA batteries instead of three. This is a quality product despite the low cost and is very easy to set up and periodically test.

Yes, you can use this carbon monoxide abroad on your holiday. However, you will need to ensure the batteries are removed from the alarm before travelling. Also ensure you check with your airline that they will accept an alarm onboard and if they have any requirements you need to adhere to
