Essential item
Definitely recommend getting one of these to detect carbon monoxide. Easy to set up and use. Lasts for about 10 years before you need to replace it. Batteries last forever too so small price to pay to be safe.

Good value and easy to set up
This replaces an out of date one. The batteries were included which is helpful. It was very easy to set up but quite difficult to decide where to put it as the instructions rule out lots of positions. Seems a good item and cheaper than other places I looked.

Carbon Monoxide Alarm - essential in any home!
We had two CO alarms fail at the same time. We thought it must be batteries - but no... the old alarms had both passed their operational life - 10 years... New alarms twin pack from Argos at Sainsburys - fabulous value, and a WHICH? Best Buy recommended for accuracy, reliability, alarm volume, and price. 5 Stars!

Hello Robert,
The Kidde Single Carbon Monoxide Alarm 700/1617 -The supplier advise -Carbon monoxide (CO) and combination alarms should be mounted in or near bedrooms and living areas, no closer than 20cm from the ceiling. If mounting on a ceiling, please make sure it is at least 20cm away from the wall. Because carbon monoxide is almost the same density as air, it will disperse evenly throughout the air in a room.
We recommend you install a carbon monoxide or combination alarm on each level of a multi-level home. If your home has only one CO or combination alarm, it should be installed in the main bedroom or in the hallway outside of the sleeping areas. Place the alarm at least 1.5m away from fuel-burning appliances. Make sure nothing is covering or obstructing the unit. Do not place the unit in dead air spaces or next to a window or door. CAUTION: Carbon Monoxide alarms will only indicate the presence of carbon monoxide at the sensor. Carbon monoxide may be present in other areas of your home
