A great cat carrier.
I am reviewing the large version of this carrier, and I am very pleased with it. I initially bought the small size for my cat, who weighs approximately 4.2 kg, but it was far too small for him. There was no real room for him to turn around and he looked cramped and uncomfortable. I returned it and bought the large version instead, and that one is perfect. The carrier itself is very straightforward, consisting of just three main parts: the top, bottom and gate (plus some nuts and bolts, which I will come to shortly). The gate fits nicely and can be mounted to open from either the left or right-hand side, which is a handy feature. Once closed, it feels very secure, with latches at both the top and bottom. Now, I have seen a number of reviews claiming that the top and bottom do not clip together and that the carrier has to be bolted together using the supplied nuts and bolts. Some people have even said this means you cannot remove the top while at the vets. That is simply not correct. For normal use, you place the bottom section down, sit the top section onto it while fitting the gate, and then secure the top and bottom together using the four clips. That's it. Bottom, top, gate, clips — job done. The supplied nuts and bolts are there for extra protection and security, if required. For example, I can see them being useful if you were transporting an animal in a cargo hold or another situation where you wanted the absolute maximum security and didn't want any possibility of the top and bottom sections separating. For regular everyday use, however, the nuts and bolts are not required at all. The four clips hold the carrier together securely, while still allowing you to remove the top when needed — which is particularly useful at the vets. I thoroughly recommend this carrier. It is perfect for what I needed, well designed, easy to clean and feels very secure in use. Do not be put off by reviews saying, "It bolts together, so it's no good." The bolts are an optional extra for additional security, not something you have to use for normal use. Personally, I think they are actually a nice touch to have included should you ever need them.

Great cat carrier
We now have 4 of these as we now have 4 cats. They do the job, easy to put together and sturdy without being heavy. Easily cleaned and stack up together if taken apart. We would buy the same again although weve had some for 8 years now.

The carrier is strong, reasonably spacious for an average sized cat (I bought the large carrier) and would be easily cleaned. I purchased it as a spare in case anything went wrong with my original carrier and it is suitable for that purpose, but if you were buying it as your main carrier I think you would be better off looking for something different. The top and bottom sections screw together, so although the side clips suggest you can remove the top for easy access, in reality this would only be possible if you took a screwdriver to the vets with you. The locking mechanism of the door is also quite sharp when the door is open and it does not come with a mat, which is something that other similarly priced cat carriers do.

Fantastic carrier
Have just used this to bring home our new cat it was the perfect size (2 year old ginger Tom!) with enough room to move around, feels solid and far more solid than the original flimsy one I bought from Amazon and returned. Very good purchase you won’t regret it.

Incorrect. Yes you can add a strap for carrying there is provision for it at the front and rear of the top part.

Maybe could accommodate 2 small kittens but better for only one medium to large sized cat. I like this carrier as it has screws which keeps it very solid and the vet likes it as they can access it from above as well as the front!
Which is better if your cat gets stressed and lashes out with either nails or teeth...

You'll be able to reduce the height by taking the top of and turning it over into the bottom, but it won't flat pack.
