Irritating auto switch off
Bought primarily to use for Pressing during Sewing projects that isn’t very well suited to this purpose. The way it beeps and switches off when it’s left unattended for a few seconds is really irritating and cannot be disabled. The steam is quite hard to control. It’s either on full power or not at all. I don’t find it very smooth to glide and even though it’s heavy, it doesn’t press as well as my old iron. On the plus side it looks good and the water tank is generous but I am considering replacing it due to the auto switch off primarily

No this does not have this feature. The main way to stop clothes from going shiny is to use a pressing cloth between the iron and the fabric to diffuse heat and prevent direct pressure on the fibres. Other techniques include ironing on the wrong side of the garment, using the correct temperature setting, and using steam to soften fibres before ironing.

“ For steam ironing, the temperature control needs to be set to the steam symbol or higher, and on the dial of the Diamond Elite Iron that means the max 3 dotted setting. Ergo, no the steam will not function on a lower heat setting. ”
