About this product
A gate that tucks away when you're not using it. This retractable safety gate stretches across doorways, hallways or the top of stairs, then retracts neatly back into its housing when you need the space clear. The mesh barrier is see-through, so you can keep an eye on what's happening on the other side. It fits openings up to 140cm wide, and the screw-fit installation means it stays put. One-handed operation makes it easier to manage when you've got your hands full.
The sturdy mesh creates a solid barrier without blocking your view, so you can see through to the next room. It retracts completely when not needed, with no gate swinging into the hallway or taking up floor space. The EZY-Check Indicator shows at a glance if it's locked or unlocked. Shop around
An alright stair gate. It is very awkward and stiff to hook into and the lock/ unlock is difficult to do one handed. There are much better and cheaper options available elsewhere.

Doesn't close with skirting boards
I will be looking to return this, it is hard to align the latches in the holes as they are so small and you can only see it from one side, certainly impossible with a baby in 1 arm, but more importantly we can only attach the top one anyway, the vertical bar of the pull across bit needs to go too close to the skirting board to get into the bracket i.e. the wall brackets don't stick out far enough to allow space for skirting board below. We have traditional skirting boards that are ~2cm deep and it is extremely hard to attach the bottom latch into the bracket, the 2 times we managed it it then took 5 minutes of jiggling it around to then undo it. We have another retractable gate that has D shaped loops to for the latch to go into so I will be looking at another one of these instead. It also looked like a previously returned item as there was no manual and couldn't find it online and a black scuff on the pull across screen. There is also black writing down one side that can be seen when closed (visible in photo).

It's OK
Its OK does not stop all my dogs getting out 😂 I like that it retracts, easy to assemble, looks better than normal metal gate.

Unusable
The screws provided are completely the wrong size for the wall plugs - way too short and way too long- meaning it cannot be attached to the wall safely. Made a complete mess of our walls trying to install it with the components provided

Doesn't feel safe
The mesh is flimsy and not really tight, there can be a gap forming at the bottom of the mesh when the gate is closed. Also it only fits in one direction, the mesh has to be on the left and closing brackets on the right.

Retractable gate / stairgate equivalent.
Seems well made and instructions are comprehensive for both inside and outside an opening. Also sticky labels are provided to help site the brackets and ensure drill holes are correctly sited. Screen opens and retracts well and the locking feature is particularly usefully. All fixings included. Drill and screwdriver needed to install. Very visible as well.

Not the easiest to fit and certainly not to use!
The installation was not the easiest in the world and proved to be a bit of a challenge. The operation of the gate to open or close it is quite awkward - you’ve got to simultaneously engage/disengage the top and bottom clips on the gate into their anchors which you’ve fitted to the wall/frame, which is made all the more difficult as the ‘handle’ area is (so you can reach it) situated in the upper half of the gate so whilst you can steer the top clip ok, steering the bottom one is far more difficult. In summary there are better solutions out there.
