Poor performance
Absolutely awful gadget. I returned it within 30mins of using it. I bought it to clean patio slabs, I had K4 before, but broke down over years, but K2 was completely useless! The pressure was so low wouldn't remove any dirt.

Terrific washer, works so well.
I bought the pressure washer a few weeks ago for odd jobs about the house and garden. Really impressed with how easy it is to assemble and use. The K2 is one of the smaller systems made by Karcher but it packs a punch and I'm delighted with it overall.

Good cut-price buy, excellent performance
This is a cut-down version of the K2 which I previously had, so I still had all the attachments from that one. The classic is just over half the price, and the same power, but only has basic tools. It also doesn't have wheels (not a problem) or the siphoning tube for adding detergent to the washing jet (you can buy an attachment for this). Have used it once so far, to clean the patio, and it did the job just as well as the old one. If you don't need the bells and whistles, this is a great budget buy.

Hello Tom,
The supplier has advised the following for the Karcher K 2 Classic Pressure Washer - 1400W:
While the Karcher K2 Classic is a champion of portability and perfect for tidying up patio chairs or muddy garden shears, it isn't the best tool for washing a car. Using it on your vehicle might lead to a frustrating experience or, worse, potential damage.
Here is why we recommend moving up the range for automotive care:
1. Pressure vs. Flow Rate
Car washing isn't just about high pressure; it's about water volume (flow rate).
The Issue: The K2 Classic is designed for "light dirt." It has a lower flow rate compared to higher-end models.
The Result: It struggle to effectively rinse away thick layers of traffic film or soap suds, meaning you’ll spend much longer on the job than necessary.
2. Hose Length and Reach
The K2 Classic comes with a 3-meter high-pressure hose
The Logistics: The average car is about 4.5 meters long.
The Struggle: With only 3 meters of hose, you cannot walk around the vehicle. You would have to constantly pick up and move the pressure washer unit (and its power cable/water intake) as you move from the front bumper to the rear, which is cumbersome and increases the risk of tripping or knocking the machine over.
3. The "Dirt Blaster" Danger
The description mentions a Dirt Blaster nozzle
The Risk: This nozzle uses a rotating pencil jet designed to strip grime off hard surfaces like stone or concrete.
The Warning: Never use a Dirt Blaster on car paint. It is aggressive enough to chip the lacquer or peel the paint right off the metal. The K2 Classic lacks the "Vario Power" spray lance found on higher models, which allows you to dial down the pressure for sensitive surfaces.
4. Motor Duty Cycle
The K2 series typically uses a universal (brush) motor cooled by air.
The Limitation: These motors are built for "occasional use" (15–20 minutes). Washing a car thoroughly—including wheels, wheel arches, and a final rinse—often takes longer.
The Consequence: Pushing a K2 through a full car detail can cause the motor to overheat, shortening the lifespan of the machine.
Summary Table:
Feature K2 Classic Ideal for Car Washing
Hose Length 3 Meters (Short) 6+ Meters (Full Circle)
Spray Lance Single / Dirt Blaster Vario Power (Adjustable)
Cooling Air-Cooled Water-Cooled (for longevity)
Best Use Bicycles & Tools Driveways & Vehicles
For a safe and efficient car wash, look for the Karcher K3 or K4 series. They offer longer hoses, adjustable pressure lances, and—in the case of the K4 water-cooled motors for longer cleaning sessions.

Hello Claire,
After checking with our supplier, they have advised for the Karcher K 2 Classic Pressure Washer - 1400W: Please see details below:
How to Use Detergent with the K2 Classic:
Connect the Detergent Suction Hose: Ensure the suction hose is properly connected to the detergent inlet on your K2 Classic.
Place the Hose in Detergent: Insert the free end of the suction hose into your detergent container.
Select the Appropriate Spray Setting: Use a spray lance with pressure regulation and turn it to the "Mix" setting.
Operate the Pressure Washer: When you activate the pressure washer, it will draw the detergent through the suction hose and mix it with the water stream.
Thank you for using Q&A.
Hi there.
The Karcher K 2 Classic Pressure Washer - 1400W, does not have the facility to use detergent.
Hope this helps
Thanks for using Q and A
Hi there
The Karcher K 2 Classic Pressure Washer - 1400W is to be used with a hose, attached to either an outside tap or an indoor tap.
Hope this helps
Thanks for using Q and A
I was wondering the same as I dont have an outside tap - but the spec reads it flows 360ltrs per hour which would be about 6 litres per minute. So, a bucket or watering can of 6 litres would empty in 1 minute - not practical. Also, I would expect the mains water pressure in an outside tap is a factor in the machines operation. For small jobs, not pavements etc, have you considered the rechargable version?
