About this product
The Habitat Squares Plus 16 Cube Storage Unit keeps your space organised when you've got lots to store. It's a tall white unit with 16 separate cubes that you can use for books, folded clothes, or boxes of bits. The minimalist design works in living rooms, bedrooms or hallways without taking over. There's 12 fixed shelves that create the cube spaces, each one's the right size for standard storage boxes if you want to hide things away. The thick frame and hidden fittings mean it looks smart from every angle, no visible screws or rough edges.
The structure's sturdy enough to hold plenty of weight across all those cubes, so you can load it up with what you need. Each cube fits storage boxes well, accommodating most standard cube storage containers. It's over 145cm tall, so wall fixing is really important to prevent it tipping, especially if you've got kids around. Fixings aren't included and should be obtained separately. Arrives flat-packed and you'll want two people for assembly, it's a big unit at 55kg. The white finish keeps things clean and neutral, fitting with most room colours.

Nice but..
I bought this for our new house and whilst I am relatively happy with it it’s not entirely sturdy and I’ve had to add extra brackets to secure it. Was incredibly difficult to put together I had to pay someone to do it and he had to get a friend to help as it required a lot of force to slot the top on. Extremely heavy. The capacity is very good and I bought squares from Amazon to fit as the cube dimensions are bigger than most of this kind of furniture. Aesthetically it’s ok to look at in the grey but I do wish I had bought the white instead.

Thanks for your query about the Squares Plus 16 Cube Storage Unit - White.
No, we’d advise against this due to its structural set up. The sides rest on the base panel and the top rests on the side panels so the weight gets distributed down onto the base safely. The dowels that hold all the parts in place would not be as structurally strong as these panels are were you to turn it onto its side. The shelves run the full width from side to side of the unit but, if set on it’s side, the functioning shelves would be the side walls of each “box” section and these are not intended to work as shelving, they’re designed to be dividers only.

We would not recommend doing this as the top and base need the support of the sides. If this is switched to its side the top and bottom will only have the support of dowels and no structure support.
