Our old scales died because it was impossible to remove and replace the battery. I was delighted to find a good old-fashioned mechanical pair with an easy to read scale and no built-in obsolescence

I think these simple scales would go well aesthetically in any bathroom. No need to push buttons for what metric you want. I don’t think it would fit feet over UK size 8 /9 as it’s quite dinky.

I read the reviews on both of mechanical bathroom scales. This home essentials scales got better reviews than the dearer one a 50% more expensive. I took my old digital scales to a charity shop, can't say I miss them. I can't judge how accurate they are as it seems all scales vary. Look nice and work well on a solid floor.

"Yes that’s correct, as a mechanical scale variance is not as accurate as a digital. So a 1kg variance is standard." This does mean that you could use these scales and appear to be 49kg or 51kg.

After checking with our supplier they have advised: This bathroom scale is intended for body weighing. Therefore, weighing 1 or 2 Kg will not lead to best accuracy. For this use, we do suggest the use of a kitchen scale.
The lowest weight compatible with accuracy will be 10Kg.
