Exactly as described, lightweight, minimal assembly done within 5 mins. Be sure to buy the bulbs, they are not part of the purchase . The base is small yet sturdy and fits easily under the bed . The smaller light is perfect for reading and crafting and the bigger one is powerful enough to light up a whole bedroom cosily.

Bought this for corner of our lounge where we have a small table and do jigsaw puzzles, the light provided is excellent and the lamp is quit discrete. The shades are plastic, so not great looking on close inspection, but fine from a few feet away, the main stand and base is metal and really solid. So overall for the money I would say an excellent buy.

After checking with our supplier, they have advised for the Argos Home Father and Child Floor Lamp - Silver: I can confirm 60W and 40W means the traditional lamps. It is equivalent to LED 10W and 6W.

Our products change twice yearly so we are no longer able to provide exact lighting bulbs currently sold for this floor lamp. For the uplighter, you’ll need an E27 bulb (maximum 60W). This can be a standard incandescent bulb or an LED bulb with an E27 base.
For the adjustable reading light, use an E14 bulb (maximum 40W). Again, this can be either an incandescent or an LED bulb with an E14 base.
