Hi Adam,
The watch has 3 subdials.
The dial at 3 o'clock is a 24 hour dial. This basically tells you if it's 3 am or 3pm.
The dial at 6 o'clock is the seconds hand of the stopwatch. This is started and stopped by pressing the top right button, and is reset by pressing the bottom left button.
The dial at 9 o'clock is the minute hand of the stop watch which move's 1 mark for every 1 cycle the second hand does. This works in line with the stop watch second hand and resets to 0 when the bottom left button is pressed in.
The middle button is the crown, which is for setting the hour hands and date function.
