Not an engineering marvel
It just about does the job, the only problem is keeping the seal tight enough where it joins the operating handle. when you are spraying a garden boarder your hand movements tend to loosen the fitting and it leaks. Had it been made of brass with an olive as in plumbing then it wouldn't leak. Of course that would have increased the pricing.

To open the Streetwize 5L Portable Power Sprayer (601/6414), you must unscrew the entire pump mechanism/handle assembly from the top of the bottle.

I have checked the instructions manual and it advises as step 5:
. Use On/Off trigger to control spray
6. Adjust Nozzle at end for either Fine Mist or Direct Spray
There is no locking mechanism on the item.
